Blockchain, Liquidity, and Mission Work: A Sunday Reflection

(edited)

A great day!

Another Sunday that I failed to attend DasPres. Last night, being alone at home, I slept late. It is close to 4 AM, and I woke up at 11 AM this morning.

Presbytery Meeting Insights

While I was in the presbytery meeting yesterday, two topics were lingering in my mind. One is about Colony Arcade, and the other is my report of the minutes of the meeting of the mission and church planting committee. I was given the floor to share how NCR South Metro Presbytery could utilize blockchain technology for its mission and ministries. After 10 minutes of talk, the moderator admitted the little knowledge the members had about the topic and expressed that the body needed a separate time to discuss the ideas I shared in a separate meeting or a seminar.

Discovering Arcade Colony

My interest in the Colony Arcade was triggered by @libertycrypto27's article I found on waivio.com. I read the whitepaper, and after digesting it, I decided to revisit my account on Genesis League Goals. What interests me is the overview of the tokenomics for Arcade Colony.

COLONY Tokenomics and My Response

I could not access my account on Genesis League Goals, so I bought a licensed franchise for 30.752 HIVE and also paid 10 USD for 10,000 CREDITS. All in all, I spend around 54 HIVE.

I thought that with the license franchise, I could start testing the game with free coach and player cards. I only found 1 GMLSPA pack later after buying my own 2 coaches and 14 players. I wonder why the cards don't have pictures. @libertycrypto27 explained that it was "because the partnership with the Canadian league has been discontinued."

Anyhow, the good thing is that by reading @libertycrypto27's article, I discovered Arcade Colony. In response to this opportunity, I bought and staked 10,000 GLX on the Genesis League Goals website and also added $6.86 worth of liquidity to SWAP.HIVE:GLX liquidity pool. Yes, the APR is very small; it's 4.396%, but this is not what I am after. I want to be eligible for the COLONY fork.

If you hold 10,000 GLX with matching Hive in the GLX: HIVE pool then you’ll receive 20,000 COLONY on Arcade Colony. Source

And so yesterday I accomplished three things in response to the tokenomics of COLONY:

  • Staked 10,000 GLX on the Genesis League Goals website

  • Added liquidity to SWAP.HIVE: GLX pool, and

  • Bought 2,000 SPS and transferred them to the Splinterlands account of @kopiko-blanca. All in all, my son's account has 4,000 staked SPS. On February 7, once I receive the 1,000 SPS I unstaked from my account, I will add that to the stakes of my son for him to be eligible for the COLONY airdrop.

Monitoring Liquidity Positions

In reality, what made me write this article is the update published by @centtoken about the status of the TRIBE and Trade tokens. Since I forgot about these tokens and already ran out of budget, I settled for the CENT:BEE liquidity pool. I just added $2.3 worth of liquidity for a test. And then I came up with the idea of monitoring my liquidity positions.

I forgot my liquidity positions on Hve Engine. I don't remember now the day I added liquidity to those pools. All I see is that daily, I keep receiving a substantial amount of CENT that I have been using to increase the CENT stakes of my oldest son. After checking BeeSwap, now I realize that those CENT are coming from my liquidity positions.

Below is the chart of my liquidity positions on our internal decentralized exchanges:

Liquidity PoolUSD ValueCurrent APRSignificant Daily RewardsRewards End in
SWAP.HIVE:DRIP$30.3920.014%0.195 DRIP148 days
SWAP.HIVE:CENT$26.4348.368%27.717 CENT219 days
CENT:POB$19.4745.108%18 CENT285 days
CENT:SWAP.BTC$19.0160.286%26.1 CENT151 days
CENT:LEO$16.7756.565%20.883 CENT285 days
SWAP.HIVE:GLX$6.864.396%2.426 GLX329 days
CENT:BEE$2.382.972%2.43 CENT73 days

Source

The advantage in creating the above table is that I can monitor the APR changes as days pass. Not only that, I can also decide whether to continue or stop once the rewards expire.

As you will observe, 5 out of 7 of my positions are all related to the Cent tribe. This is because I don't see any other tribe except Splinterlands and Cent, who are actively expanding the number of their pools. It is also interesting that no matter how minuscule SWAP.BTC I hold, I find it amusing to have that 0.00009597.

In terms of APR, the highest I saw was CENT: BEED. It is now 137.103%. However, BEED is expensive. You can buy it at 2.80 HIVE per token. I have no budget for that, and that is why I decided to go for CENT: BEE instead.

That's all for today, my fellow Hivians! Enjoy your day, and God bless!

Grace and peace!

Thinking of unstaking my cent and bee tokens and putting them into LP. 85% APR is a no brainer.
I also wrote about Genesis League before.

I don't like much arcade colony simply because it's a project with aggroed behind and he was leading splinterlands to bankrupt, so not much confidence

I think blockchain could be good for religious purposes tough

Side note, issues with hivewatchers all solved
