Talking a Little about the Frontier Format and Opening Foundation Packs in Splinterlands

The Frontier format is one of my focuses in Splinterlands because I don't need to rent SPS or cards to play; I only need to complete Campaign Mode or buy cheap Foundation cards on the market.

My goal in the Frontier format was to reach the Gold League without spending anything, but it's not easy to reach that league with only Campaign Mode cards, and for that reason, I'm opening some Foundation packs to evolve my cards.

Before continuing to talk about Splinterlands, I'll talk a little about Arcade Colony.

Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.

For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.

I'm playing 3 games on Arcade Colony and they are:

There's also Genesis League Goals, but I haven't invested in that game yet.

Remember that this is not an investment tip.

Let's continue talking about Splinterlands and the Frontier format.

In the Frontier format, I'm only in the Bronze league because I don't have much time to play and my main focus is on the Wild format, but when I reach the Gold league it will become really fun and profitable because I'll be able to receive Foundation packs in the daily rewards.

To evolve my Foundation Card collection, I can buy cards on the market or open Foundation packs. I like opening packs, so I prefer opening Foundation packs even though that's not the best option when it comes to evolving cards.

To buy Foundation packs in Splinterlands, you need to go to the SHOP option and then to Card Packs.

The lowest price for a Foundation pack is 158 DEC, and compared to the price of other packs, this is very cheap.

My main goal is still to reach the Gold League without spending too much, so I open a few packs a week to speed up my progress.

I'm going to buy 3 packs, and that will cost me 477 DEC.

When opening Foundation packs, I always use Alchemy potions and Legendary potions.

  • The Alchemy potion increases the chances of getting Gold Foil cards.

  • The Legendary potion increases the chances of getting Legendary cards.

Let's see the cards I received in these packs.

I got some great cards that will be useful for upgrading the ones I currently have, and I'll sell the Gold Foil cards to buy more packs or cards later.
