After working in factories for some years without anything to show for it my sense went back to having a business of my own, I mean it won’t be a bad idea if I am a boss of my own so I rub minds with my sister whom I live with some years back
“Dara, you are not getting any younger, so I think what you have in mind to become a boss is not a bad idea,” she said to me while we were both picking beans on the bed.
The next day, I swung into action since she said I am not getting any younger so I figured it out that there is no time to waste.
“Hey babe, I need to talk to you about something,” I put a call through to my boyfriend
“Hey honey, I hope there is no problem and I guess you are not breaking up with me?” Tom, my boyfriend, replied, and we played a little on the phone, so he promised to stop by at my place when he got off work.
Some hours later
“Hello beautiful, how was your day?” Tom greeted me immediately when he entered my room and we hugged as we exchanged greetings
“I spoke with Aunty Rachel about myself and what I wish to do from now on,” I said to him
“Okay” he replied
“So the thing is I have made up my mind to learn a handwork so that I could become a boss of my own and also have time for you as well,” I said to him while I grabbed his hand so that I could make him get along with what I want and also to sound convincing because I will need his help a lot.
“So now I am looking at a new CEO right in front of me?” He made a jest of what I was telling him.
Don’t mind Tom, he can be too playful sometimes, and that was why I was so serious when I told him about the step I want to take.
“Babe come on, I'm not joking right now” I replied with a frown face so that he could take me seriously
“Oh, ok, I'm all ears,” he said with a serious look on his face. So we discussed it, and he agreed to support me in any way he could. Before he left, he called one of his friends who knew someone whom I could learn hairdressing from. We agreed to meet the person the next day, and I was happy because everything was going smoothly as planned.
I couldn’t go to the hairdresser's the next day because it was raining so heavily, so the day after, I went with my boyfriend.
“Hello, good morning,” my boyfriend greeted her immediately when he got into her shop, and we all exchanged greetings with some of the apprentices that I met there.
To cut a long story short, I started working the next day. That day, there was no time to relax because there was too many customers that make their hair and my boss never gets tired and that was when she became my inspiration, and I want to “take a leaf out of her book” don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t talking about her personal life I was thinking about how she handled her business.
“Dara, here we work effortlessly so that we can achieve our goals, and I hope you understand that?” My boss said to me the day I started working in her shop, more so the first girl in the shop told me that my boss opened her shop even before she did her graduation so that she wouldn’t spent all the money she has on ceremony and then go back to looking for shop money again.
Six months after, I was done with learning and instead of doing graduation with the money I was able to raise while learning work, I decided to do just like how my boss did because that was so thoughtful of her, after all it is money I will be making from the shop and later I can gather money for my graduation.
A month after I opened my shop, I told my boss, and immediately she came. She was so surprised that I didn’t come for graduation first; instead, I got a job, which was a smart move.
“How did you manage to get a shop before your graduation?” she asked while looking around the shop
“Well, let’s just say I am imitating your business style because I figured it out that if I do the graduation first there wouldn’t be any money left for me to get a shop,” I replied to her and she liked my idea and she was happy that someone could actually imitate her business style
I was happy that I did that because some of my seniors who went back for their graduation first are still wandering around till now looking for money to set up their shop which is quite impossible because things are now expensive than it was before.
You know, it is always admiring to someone when you imitate what they do mostly in the good way. They feel honored and appreciated because they believe they didn't make you go the wrong way. That was an amazing one from you.
Yeah, she was so happy that I did exactly what she did and it worked out for me at the end because some of my seniors who knew how she did it all never took her step and it is affecting them now
Awww, I use to say it, you can't be learning something under a person and not pick one of their attribute unless you just hate the person. You imitated something nice and its working for you. So if I want to make my hair now, I can come to you.
Hahaha 😝 if you have hair on your head no wahala
I am at your service man
I have hair na, the koko is that I have hair, right?
When you imitate the right persons, getting a positive result is certain. It was clear, you meant business, you knew what you wanted and you were ready to get it by all means.
I am glad you made that choice, working under people can be so annoying.
Like seriously working under people for so long can be draining and frustrating at the same time
Learning good things from others is good. The way you follow the footsteps of your boss had helped you in the right path. That was a good story
I love how she handles her business and that’s one thing I can never over look about her
Yea things are really expensive wish they know they would have
This didn't relate to the story content at all.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 reminds me of gfam.
Hello I meant what I said the cost of getting a shop now is literally expensive she made the smart move of getting it before going for graduate which her boss knew

I also wish they had taken the right step as well but I can’t tell them what to do
