Most Memorable Moment Of 2021
It's the very last weekend engagement for the year and conveniently a good time to reflect on 2021. This year has easily been one of my best so far and that's because it marked a major change in my life.
I got married this year and the moment we were officially declared married, I felt all types of ease. I'm not one to care about parties or showing up and I didn't look forward to the wedding occasion, if I had had the chance to elope, I would have.
The months leading to the wedding were very stressful and draining for me on all levels. I had to do a lot of planning and I was constantly at loggerheads with my parents because I wanted a small wedding. My anxiety was off the charts and I didn't look forward to my wedding. All I looked forward to was moving in with my husband and continuing the life we had started since we met.
The day came and it turned out that we had a good time at the wedding ceremony and it really was a good day. I was so relieved and satisfied with all of the vendors not disappointing and all the guests were pleased.
Above all, I could see only one person that day, nobody else mattered. Even with the crowd, it still felt intimate and I was happy with our decision to follow through with getting married. Our lives had been intertwined long before that day and we had been planning as one but for some reason, it felt like that was when we really became one with a life purpose.
I was genuinely happy through all of the ceremonies and it felt surreal because I never pictured myself getting married at that time. I always thought I'd be ready to commit to marriage in my 30s and even when @belemo told me we'd get married from the first day we met, I still thought it'd take years to come to fruition.
There I was looking at the best thing that had happened to me in the last two years and committing to marriage in my 20s, eager to take on life with an extended version of me. Absolute best moment.
I'm wishing you all a Happy New Year, it's been a pleasure sharing with you these past weekends and I look forward to more engaging weekends in 2022. Thanks for always engaging, it means a lot!
