Weekend-Engagement Week #293: Three Memorable Mobile Phone Images

I love taking photos using my mobile phone. Sometimes the subjects are pretty random. Whenever I see something interesting, or just anything that catches my eye, I immediately take some shots. However, there are also times when I intentionally take photos to preserve a memory. Well, it's most likely both. Let me show you some of them.

I took this photo way back in 2017. My cousins and I, together with two of my aunts, went to 10000 Roses after going to the Cebu Happyworld Museum. It was during one of my visits to Lapu-Lapu City to spend time with my cousins when my aunt decided to treat us somewhere. It doesn't happen often since we usually just bond at home or at some shopping malls.

While we were spending time in the area, the view of the sea caught my attention. It's mainly because of the reflection of the sky. Although it was already quite gray and dark, it was still beautiful. You can also see SM Seaside on the other side. Now, this view must be a bit different. They built a bridge (a third one) connecting Mactan Island to Cebu, and it's around this area. I haven't visited the place since then, but I sure did have an awesome time with my cousins and aunts.

This photo was taken in the park near the city hall. It's where we used to go jogging, either in the morning or in the afternoon. I used to go there with my parents or my bestie.

Before my bestie and her family migrated to the US, this was the last place we spent time together. We went for our final jog together and we just sat on some logs and talked about our future plans. She occassionally visits the Philippines, and I'm always happy to spend time with her every time she does.

Also, just like the first photo, this park isn't the same anymore. They built a skatepark, food park, and playground in this area... so I'm glad I could preserve what it looked like at that time.

This photo was taken in the next municipality from where we currently live. It's in the countryside! I took this photo in 2018. At that time, I attended my high school reunion (my first high school... never attended reunions in the actual high school I graduated from. lol). During that time, I stayed in my aunt's house... and my cousin, as well as my adopted sister, were my plus 2 for the reunion. The day after the reunion, we went to this place.

It's a public beach, but there's a restaurant that offers a floating cottage. We didn't eat here, but we stayed in the walkway going to the middle of the sea to watch the sunset. It was so pretty!

We talked about life and our summer plans, because after that day, the two of them would spend time with my family at our place, and we planned to go to various places. It was a fun summer vacation for me.

And just like the first two photos, this area isn't the same anymore. It's still a public beach,, and the sea and the beach are the same; however, the walkway was destroyed by the typhoon, and the restaurant closed down. So now, there ares no more floating cottages and the walkway.

Taking photos really preserves memories... and the old appearances of places before they were either developed, repurposed or destroyed. I actually have a lot of other photos I like in my gallery, so perhaps I could show and tell you about them some other time.

That's it for this post. Thanks for checking, and I'll see you around! (^^,)/
