I never knew people have productive hours until I started working in a corporate firm. The first 6 months were really good because I just came to do my job and closed from work, but then like the saying goes “The reward for work is more work” my work load increased and I began to feel the heat. I became slow and sluggish and it was affecting my job. I later had a section with our HR and consultant and got to know that my progress was dwindling because I was not maximizing my time very well.

I am usually very lazy in the morning, but no matter how tired I am I can work at night. Sometimes I even work all through the night only to discover I have to wake up early in the morning for work and I am usually very disheartened. Before I started working everyone around me knew better than to come visit me in morning and early afternoon hours because the probability of me sleeping is very high seeing I work through the night. This is why it took a lot for me to adjust to the lifestyle of waking up early and working early.
When I go to the office now I just try to do less stressful things while I watch movies in the background. The real work starts for me when it is almost closing hours. That is when I have the strength to finish any prolonged and major issues and usually end up closing very late because I started working late. My partner complains a lot about my closing late, but I just feel helpless because I need to do my job and it is hard for her to understand seeing she’s a morning person.
