CHOOSING TO BE BLIND

There is a lot going on in the world today and to be honest it feels good when you come online and find things to actually make you laugh. I mean we can’t all be fighting for freedom 24/7, some of us need that laugh if we are going to have the strength to fight another day. A country like Nigeria where a lot of things are going wrong at the same time, from new tax reforms to unemployment, delays and strikes from public services, inflation in the prices of goods and services. Tell me we do not need a break from all this bullshit.

It is not as though we do not know that we are being distracted, but if we are not going to get the peace and prosperity we are praying for, it doesn’t mean we can not look for where to find temporary joy from. There are those who are not for one moment bothered with the things going on in the society, and if I am to be brutally honest, I am happy for them because they are the ones giving us joy on social media. Yes they might be stupid and all, but when I think more about it, they are happy and that is all that matters for the main time.

Recently a prominent activist was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in my country because he was so passionate about his beliefs that the country labeled him a terrorist. This is something happy people can never experience as they are busy being happy while we are busy fighting for peace they have decided to have without anyone giving them. Say what you want, a happy man is a happy man, are they distractions, perhaps, are the things we are being distracted from important, perhaps, but do we need those distractions, hell yes we do, else we will all develop high BP.
