For a very long time, I struggled to unlock my hidden writing ability. I mean, I have never really been a writer and I thought I didn’t have any of such abilities so I didn’t welcome the idea of me becoming a blogger at first when my sister tried to introduce me to hive. I thought I knew myself better and right from the get-go, I have always seen hive as a platform for really seasoned bloggers, so it was not for me I thought to myself. Luckily for me, there was this day, a program was held and one of the speakers talked about hive and at that point, an interest to be a blogger just woke up in me like it has been dead for a really long time.
Someone that was never interested in blogging all of a sudden decided to give it a try and that was how my journey as a blogger started about 3 years ago, in simple terms, I was relentless. I remember my first year was a little rough but then, I had so much fun learning how hive worked and how I could make sure to meet up with the standards I have always know hive for. I gave my time to engaging in different communities and also with different bloggers and this was because I knew that was necessary and also it was a way that also helped me improve on my writing skills.
The one word that kept me going was that I was just determined to make it all worthwhile. Determination was my driving force. Getting into hive and staying for this long was because from the beginning, I was already determined to make the most of my Hive experience. Till tomorrow, whenever I look back, I’m always so happy that I was at that program and most importantly I was happy I didn’t just get that knowledge and threw it away but I worked on it.
Today, even though I’m not really the best in what I do, one thing is evident and that is my consistent growth on hive as a blogger. My major setback were those days when I didn’t feel like blogging because I had too many activities offline to meet up with. At some point, it really got to me that I even stopped writing daily and engaging as I would normally do. For the days that I even get to write, it took me almost the whole day to come up with what to write. How I overcame? It wasn’t easy but then, it was also through the determination to breakthrough that got me this far.
For the past 3 months, I have been consistently making my blogs way earlier than I did years ago. This didn’t just happened by mistake, it took me years of trial and error to know what works and what doesn’t work. Funny thing was, I even cried on somedays when I struggled to come up with a post early! So crazy, hehe. Well, today, I can say a different story thanks to those days.
If there was one lesson I learnt from all of these experiences, it was the fact that giving up is not an option and also ’Never to say Never!’ I mean, why say never when you’ve not even tried? Go for it, try it out, make a mistake, correct the mistake, do better, go again, make another mistake, learn from it and keep getting better. But you see, if I had given up just because I thought I wasn’t worthy to be a writer, I won’t even have written something like this today.
Determination is one of the food for succeeding and not to forget, consistency and persistency as well. If there were other things that made me get this far, it was my consistency and my persistency even when it got harder. Like I said, it was hard but then it wasn’t just enough reason to quit trying. And as someone once said, the real failure is giving up trying, not necessarily failing while trying.
Thank you for reading through. ❤️
If your determination is powerful enough failure will struggle to catch up to a person; add in some consistency and dedication and one is well on the way to achieving at greater levels. Keep in mind, failure should not be shunned but embraced because through failure many lessons can be learned and that will help the path forward to be better than it ever was.

Thank you. 🥰
Most of us started feeling the same way, especially days when we had to navigate some communities on our own without any guide. Hive is indeed complex and it takes high level of determination to remain consistent on the platform. Well you are one of the most spirited writer I know on hive, when you joined hive it was hard to tell if you were a newbie because your growth was rapid and you kept grinding.
Thank you for the compliment, Emrysjobber.
You know what they say, little drops make a mighty ocean? I just try to keep adding and adding no matter how little and God helped me. 🥰
