My Week in Review for November 23, 2024

This has been an interesting week for cryptocurrency as whole, especially for BTC still teasing at punching through the $100,000 level. The big question on everyone's mind is once the level is attained will we continue to climb or see a large pullback with large whales takings some profits? I of course am hoping for the former along with most of you I'm sure.

Hive has had a nice push the last day or so up to $0.25. Let's see if we can't keep that rally alive, it would be nice to see Hive back above $0.30!

It's finally the weekend once again. Here it's kind of a dreary and rainy Saturday which is relatively uncommon as of late in southern California. Tomorrow looks like more sun in the forecast, and to be honest it's nice to have a rainy day every now and again. I'm actually enjoying it!

Since it's Saturday, it's time for another Saturday Savers post! I joined the community this year to help me focus my Hive goals. In the past I've had some general goals in mind but never anything concrete. Ever since joining and reporting weekly I have noticed that my numbers have been increasing at a much faster rate. Some of this may have to do with my reaching out to new people and communities, but also because I want to be able to see that weekly progress here on Saturdays.

Without further ado, let's jump into the numbers for this last week...

Hive Power

I've been lucky enough to have another good week in this arena. I started the week with 5,569 HP. I now have 5,697 HP, so I gained 128 HP on the week! My goal for this year was to reach an HP of 5,000 HP to finally be a dolphin, and that goal has long since been surpassed. I'm now looking to hit 6,000 HP by the end of the year and I'm optimistic that I should be able to make it although there are only some five weeks left!

PIMP

This is my secondary goal of the year and it's not looking good. I wanted to stack up 50,000 PIMP and was on track for quite some time. But as fate would have it, the price started to jump. With the higher prices I just haven't been able to keep buying up large chunks of the token. Right now I have 31,977 in total staked, so there is a long way to go yet. Miracles do happen, I may yet make it!

Leo

This was a goal established late in the year to accumulate 1,500 staked LEO by years end. I currently have just over 2,000 staked LEO, so I have accomplished this goal and haven't set any new ones in this category. Next year I'll set some new goals for this token!

HSBI

I accomplished this goal months ago, I wanted to hit 2,000 units and now I'm sitting on 3,197. It was a great feeling to beat it, and then even pile on some more.

I'm up 38 units on the week, so a good week here as well.

Just over a year ago I had a grand total of 11 HSBI and I really didn't even understand well what they were. That prompted me to do some research and figure out what HSBI does to help you out in growing your Hive account. Since that time I have done giveaways on my posts and even have one weekly post dedicated to give out HSBI. I also began to sponsor other initiatives like Three Tune Tuesday, Nineties Friday, and Shadow Hunters which also really grew my HSBI numbers. You can never have too many of these, for those unfamiliar with the program keep reading below!

For those of you new to Hive or unfamiliar with the HSBI program I have some guides to help you out. When I started blogging I had no clue what they were and had to search around until I stumbled on a post that explained it to me. That's why I include this every week to help someone out if they still don't understand the program.

SIM

SIM is the governance token for the dCity game here on Hive. I've been playing the game for some time now and accumulating in game assets. In return I do earn some daily SIM tokens from the game, however I hold more than one million of these tokens for a different reason altogether. For holding the tokens you receive daily liquid Hive dividends once you hold a certain level of tokens. I believe it's 8K, but don't quote me on that. I still plan to push my holding up to two million, hopefully before the end of the year.

Another nice perk is you can place these into liquidity pools and receive additional earnings, and continue to receive the daily liquid Hive payouts. Kind of a nice two for one extra bonus!

DUO

Time for me to do some more shilling of a project I helped start not too long ago. Along with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman , we created the DUO token. The purpose of the token is to accumulate enough Hive Power to be able to use a portion to support new onboards and help retain them through encouragement and with curations. We currently have more than 33,800 HP in the curation account, and are starting to make our first onboarding efforts.

DUO token holders receive by far the greatest benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily liquid Hive dividends. Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!

I currently have over 1,100 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase! All Hive from token purchases in locked into Hive Power and will never be powered down.

Other Tokens

No big changes here, I am continuing to collect DBOND and DAB. I have both my DBONDs and DABs staked, so the staked DBOND produces more DAB, and the staked DAB produces more DBOND. So they are slowly growing. I still want to increase my EDS holding to over 200, but that will be a goal for the next year, I'm still have just over 100.

Silver

Silver prices have continued to recover slowly and are up about one dollar on the week. Precious metals are a great way to store wealth as they will always have value. I have been collecting silver and gold coins since I was young, a habit I learned from my father. It's never too late to start investing in silver, it's not horribly expensive and will likely continue to increase in price slowly over time. We may even see a push to all time highs in the not too distant future.

2023 Cook Islands Ultra High Relief Spinning Coin, One Troy Ounce Pure Silver

The Cook Islands are an island nation in the Southern Pacific that make multiple varieties of silver and gold commemorative coins every year. Last year it included this silver beauty. Only 999 were made and they are sold out most everywhere you look, and the ones I can find start at about $169. While you could play with this like a top, I wouldn't recommend it. The value of these is likely to only go up over the years, so it could be a fun investment and it's a very odd coin! Those are always the most fun!
