Back in January of this year silver prices spiked all of the way up to $120 due to widespread shortages. It since has undergone some correction in price but has been staying around $80. I was fortunate to sell some silver when it was above $100 which I converted into gold. I do own a fair amount of silver, but not a whole lot of gold, so it fit my long term investment strategy. Recently, I have been pulling some other silver out of secure storage considering selling it if there is once again a nice spike in prices.
Back in 2009 the United States Mint created a commemorative coin celebrating to 200th birthday of Louis Braille. He developed Braille used worldwide by those with visual deficiencies. At the time they were priced well and silver was relatively inexpensive so I picked up some of these as an investment to possibly flip in the future. I had almost forgotten that I had so many or I might have sold them to purchase some other items a few years ago! So it may be time to part with all but one of these coins in the near future.

They are nice coins that come in their own presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.

And the outer sleeve that protects the inner box.
These coins were produced in the Philadelphia mint in 2009 composed of 90% silver. The actual silver amount in each coin comes out to 0.773 Troy ounces and with current silver prices that makes each one worth $60.12 in just the silver value alone. Collectors do tend to pay a bit more of a premium on these as they are approaching twenty years old now. Trend prices show around $95 currently for the uncirculated version which these are. So with any luck, I can get a nice return on my investment when I decide to cash them out!
I did make money for sure, back in 2009 silver was still cheap! The funds raised from these and the others I'm considering selling will likely help pay down some bills and the rest will likely go into some gold. I really don't own enough gold, so it's time to start picking up some more for my long term investment strategy!

Born in 1809 in Coupvray, France, he led a normal childhood until age three. He had the misfortune of being blinded in one eye by a stitching awl in his father's workshop. He then developed a condition know as sympathetic ophthalmia where his own immune system attacked his good eye after being exposed to the lacerated bad eye. That's why today lacerated, blind eyes are commonly removed to prevent this extremely rare condition.
Despite having lost his sight he excelled in his schooling and by the time he was fifteen he had created a fast, efficient way for blind individuals to read and write using tactile sensations of ordered dots that represent letters. His system was compact and could even be used in music. He served as a professor for the blind in France's Royal Institute for Blind Youth throughout most to his adult life. He however succumbed to tuberculosis at age 42, a truly nasty disease...
Braille's system of reading/writing was not widely adopted in his lifetime, however, two years after his death it was became the standard in the Royal Institute. Then it slowly spread to other nations and now is the universally accepted communication for the visually impaired worldwide, and is virtually unchanged from the time it was developed. He may not have gotten credit in his lifetime, but he changed millions of lives for the better for those with visual impairments.

That will do it for me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the coins and I hope I'm making the right call on picking these as some to sell. I think it is though! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and thanks for all of your support. It truly is deeply appreciate. Have a great day everyone!

Nice coins, never bad to take a profit, that being said, silver takes out $120 and goes higher this year is my prediction..
I think it's going up again too, so I'm in preparation phase right now. Get the items together I don't mind parting with, and when the time is right sell them off!
