I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Some of the successes of rearing Broiler chicken lies so much on some many Poultry farm practices. We have so many them; like proper hygiene, feeding the Birds on time with rich feeds, making sure that all the farm practices are in accordance with how a proper Poultry farm business should be run. But then, there is this important factor that is also needed in the farm in order to have successful farming which is avoidance of overcrowding.
Overcrowding in Poultry farm is the process where by a Farmer who owns a Poultry farm stocks the pen with birds more than the available space either intentionally or unintentionally. Why I said this is that, a Farmer should be able to determine the amount of birds that would be conducive for a particular space, not at day old the birds but at probably six to eight weeks because you can't suggest what a particular space will be okay for q number of birds when they are at Babies.
Overcrowding can leads to heat stress. Normally, Broiler chicken produce heat from their body because of their lack of sweat glands. So just imagine combining heat with overcrowded pen. This may affect the growth of the birds.
Overcrowding can leads to lack of proper ventilation.
Overcrowding can help to increase the fast spread of diseases or viruses if any hits the farm.
Overcrowding may cause the birds to feel discomfort in terms of their mobility and free movement within the pen.
All these may have huge effect on the economic return of the Poultry farm business.
