Today I'm going to talk about the Silvershield Sheriff card, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge in Splinterlands.
I'm not a big fan of ranged cards in the game, but when I need to use them, I like to use cards that have useful abilities for battle.

Silvershield Sheriff is a rare Life Deck card that has a powerful ranged attack, and in the past I loved using it because it has the Protect ability, which is very useful in battles.
The Snipe ability and the Piercing ability aren't abilities that particularly appeal to me, but they are great abilities to have in battle.
Now let's see how each of these abilities works in Splinterlands.

Snipe: Magic and ranged attacks target the first non-melee enemy unit behind the first position.
*Cards with melee attacks are usually great on defense, so not having them as a target is a good advantage in battle.

Piercing: Damage in excess of the target's armor is applied to health.
Armor is annoying in battles, so the Piercing ability is very useful against it.

Protect: +2 armor to all allied units.
Armor is a great defense against melee and ranged attack cards.
The main reason I like Silvershield Sheriff is because of its Protect ability, and I'll show it in battle so you can see how useful it is.
Unfortunately, Silvershield Sheriff has a high mana cost, so it's the type of card you'll only use when you have a lot of mana available in battle.

This was a great battle to have Silvershield Sheriff because the Protect ability was very useful, and its powerful attack focusing on my opponent's backline helped a lot during the battle.

Global Warming: All units have the Burning status effect applied at the start of combat (At the beginning of round 2, burning has a 33% chance to spread to adjacent units. All burning units lose 2 health. Burning can be cleansed).
There's a Global Warming rule in battle, so I used several cards with the Triage ability to help my cards survive longer during the battle. I also like the Taunt ability, so I used Shieldbearer to defend in the first position.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
