Today I'm going to talk about the Shieldbearer card in Splinterlands, so join me on this brief journey of knowledge.

Shieldbearer is a Life Deck card and one of my favorite cards in this deck for defending in the first position in battles. Nowadays there are many other great defensive cards in this deck, but in the past Shieldbearer was the main defensive option for battle.
It costs 8 mana to use in battle, its attack is powerful and its defense is too, the only disadvantage is that it doesn't have a high attack speed.
The abilities that Shieldbearer possesses are: Taunt, Shield, and Return Fire.

Taunt: Draws the attacks of enemy units. Does not affect Reach, Scattershot, Wingbreak, or enemy units in the first position.
This ability is the reason Shieldbearer is a great defense; it makes it the main target of enemy attacks, thus protecting your other cards in battle.

Shield: 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.
It's very common to see cards with melee or ranged attacks in battles, so this ability is very useful when defending.

Return Fire: Returns 50% of damage to the attacker (rounded up) when hit by a ranged attack.
Another great ally against ranged attacks in battle.
With the Shieldbearer in battle, your only concern will be when it receives magic attacks; against other attacks, it will be a great defense.
There are only 3 ways to get the Shieldbearer for your battles, and they are:
Buy the Shieldbearer from other players on the market.
Rent the Shieldbearer from other players on the market.
Buy and open Untamed packs in the game.
Now let's take a look at the Shieldbearer in battle.

In this battle, I can perfectly demonstrate how the Shieldbearer is a great defense in battle, and with the Reverse Speed rule, it becomes even more powerful because its low attack speed is an advantage.

Now I'll talk about the Arcade Colony platform. On it, you'll find the games: Splinterlands, Moon Karts, StakeHouse Den, and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Invennium Corp. is a 100% subsidiary of Splinterlands.
