Building my SPS stake in Splinterlands

Hello, my fellow Splinterlands players,

I hope all of you are spending a spectacular weekend with your family and friends and also in the meantime, I guess you are grinding this game well. A fresh new season just started a few days ago and as of today, it's still 11 days left for his ongoing one to meet its end. As for my progress, I am currently battling in the Diamond 1 tier and against the OG top players to secure a spot in the Diamond leaderboard when the season ends. Not to mention that I am also keeping an eye on the tournaments tab and entering most of those Diamond and Gold level tourneys to try my luck out. Since I completed adding all of the chaos legion edition set and most of the Rift set cards into my account and started competing in the tournaments seriously, the result has been fruitful to me as I have started making some SPS out of them which is helping me to build up my SPS stake in a faster rate. Just today, I got able to secure around 179.55 SPS from the Modern League of Champions tournament by securing the 33rd place in its leaderboard and soon after receiving the reward, I sent all of that liquid SPS into my staking account.

Apart from playing daily focus missions while also catching more and more season chests simultaneously, playing tournaments and brawls are my main priority in this game, and needless to say that both of them possess a huge opportunity to unlock the full potential of your cards to earn more SPS by participating in them. While in Diamond, every ranked match win fetches me around 1.8 - 2.3 SPS while I get one or two-digit random SPS amount from those daily focus chests, and the more chests I earn in a single day, the more possibility to earn more SPS arises, which certainly makes it lucrative to play focus mission on a hardcore level and get as many chests as you can, while using the focus monsters to increase that possibility even more. I try to get at least 10 reward chests from each of the focus missions and stopped playing when I get around securing 14 to 15 chests, to maintain my energy level to be able to play for the next day.

However, I go all wild at the end of each season where my focus shifts from balancing the energy bar towards the leaderboard and I even used a bag of dec during the last season's end to recharge up another 25 energy to be able to play more. During the last 2 days of every season, my main goal is to secure a place in the leaderboard to get those lucrative dec prizes while scoring more and more season chests by the end of the season. Last season however, I didn't perform very well and only got able to secure 13th place with a total trophy count of only 4048 and got only 20k Dec as my prize. One of the reasons for my bad performance I suspect the drastic decrease in the rental market which made many of the OG untamed series cards and summoners available for so cheap that all of my opponents were coming with all the cards that I don't own. So, this season I will be trying to rent some good cards for me too if the price stays there and try once again for the top 3 places in the Diamond leaderboard. So let me just hope for the best and battle well.

Now, for those who are yet to know, splinter lands is an NFT play2earn strategic card game on hive blockchain which got launched back in 2018 and just recently completed its 5 years. SPS aka Splintershards is not only the in-game reward token of this game but also the governance token in splinterlands. The total circulating supply of SPS is 1,057,148,028 and my current holding of SPS is 81,658 right now. As a long player of Splinterlands and a community member, I believe in the project and SPS as well since the airdrop of SPS started, I staked almost all the SPS I got from the year-long drop and after the airdrop ended, I am still taking all my SPS earnings back into my staked wallet and gladly made this far with my total staked count. Recently with a new update, Splinterlands announced another great use-case of SPS in which the requirement to earn maximum rewards in a certain league in this game, the players need to have a certain staked amount of SPS in their wallet. As I am playing in the Diamond league, so to get 100% of the rewards I would have to stake around 178k staked SPS in my account. Thou I have a decent amount of SPS already, I am not even halfway to reaching my goal to secure 100% of the rewards from playing the game. However, as the update will be live in 3rd quarter of this year, I still have some time and will try my best to accumulate as many as I can. The current price of SPS is very lucrative for buying to be honest as it is roaming around at its all-time low ever at 0.021$ per unit, so it may be the best time to accumulate some SPS if anyone is interested, not financial advice thou. If I can manage some liquid money, I am also thinking to buy some liquid SPS off the market to at least reach 100k total staked SPS and hope the price doesn't get shot up any sooner.

Since I joined this amazing game back in 2018, splinter lands has become a second home for me and thou I started my career in Hive from scratch and without any prior knowledge of crypto or investment. But playing actively for years and posting content related to this game, I have grown gradually and now happily placed myself with the OGs. I like playing this game and unlike most of the other crypto games, this game needs both investment and skill to earn well. It's surprising to see when most of the other play2earn games come and go within a few months or even weeks after they get launched, how well this game working for over 5 years now. I feel honored to be a little part of this amazing project and community.
