HIVE POWER UP DAY EPISODE 4 - NOVEMBER EDITION
I almost forgot that today was the first day of November and I worked the whole morning on a different project but after I wander around my newsfeed when I was eating lunch I saw this month's HPUD post from @traciyork and I realized that I missed my monthly Power up! Well, the positive thing is that I have plenty of time ahead for the deadline and I didn't miss it as some previous times. This post so is more than a reminder for the majority of the people here on Hive and because I will share it in other platforms as well I would try to to explain to some new users the benefits from Powering Up. Except for all the benefits you are gaining from the platform, there are plenty of motives in order to participate in this initiative and some of them are the rewards you are going to get from various good people/communities that they are giving away to the participants of HPUD.
The benefits from Powering Up
Curation Rewards: I mean the first thing that will be caught up with your attention is the upvote button on this platform. The logic behind this mechanism is pretty simple, the higher the amount of your HP the higher the rewards you get from curation rewards. Also, the price of Hive impacts the value of your tokens that are staked so when the price goes up so do your rewards!
APR interest: As you can see from the picture above you can see that there is an APR for staking your Hive at 2.864%. Also, keep in mind that this value is subject to blockchain variance!
Delegation Rewards: One of the most useful and revolutionary things in the platform from my point of view because you can loan an amount of money to a desirable account and there are some accounts like @ecency, @ocd, @curangel, etc which gives you back delegation rewards as an exchange for your Hive! The best part is that the money never leaves your wallet and you can cancel your delegation at any time! In simple words, your money works for you while you are watching movies and living your life 😂
You can impact the whole Hive platform: That's a fact, you impact the way the Hive works now and will in the future by Powering Up. This comes from the fact that the bigger the HP you got the bigger the value of the vote you give to the witnesses. As a user, You can vote for a maximum of 30 witnesses. So choose wisely!
How to Power Up
If you are new to the platform and don't even know how to Power up your Hive tokens, we will go through it step by step in order to understand the whole process. We are going to see the process through the @peakd interface this month but you will get the point. The difference with other interfaces etc is not so huge.
First step
In order to complete the first step you need first to navigate to your wallet and the address should look like this peakd.com/@YourName/wallet then you are going to click on the little arrow next to "SEND" and afterward the Power Up.
Second Step
In the second step, the only thing that you should do is enter the amount of HIve you want to Power Up and hit Continue. After that, you will need to confirm the transaction through your Keychain.
Congrats you did it!
That's it, I just turned my Hive into Hive Power!
