Happy August Power Up Day - my 8th #HPUD badge

It’s that time of the month when Hiveans rush to power up their Hive. Newbies and oldies who believe in the future of Hive blockchain know the importance of powering up regularly.

Why Power Up at all? Because it makes sense. The bigger your Hive Power, the bigger your influence on Hive blockchain. When you want to vote on your favourite posts, you need HP for your vote to leave a monetary mark. Consecutively, whenever you vote, half of your vote value comes back to your wallet. That’s why Powering Up Hive matters.

While posting regual, high quality articles is of most importance to add value to Hive blockchain as well as earn rewards, the importance of curation rewards can not be underestimated. It’s that magical money that lands in your wallet while you sleep - a true passive income.

Before that income becomes passive, some activity has to be completed and Powering Up your Hive is that needed activity.

While I Power Up my hive on (somewhat) regular basis by posting and curating, the Power Up Day is one of my favourite ways of doing it, because on that day many other Hiveans do exactly the same and it feels like a celebration day, after which we receive a new badge of the size appropriate to our power up.

So far, since my start of posting here at the end of October 2022, I collcted 8 of those badges, although only 7 out of 8 this year. May the 1st I remember I fall asleep on the sofa after coming back from the salsa congress and forgot it was a PUD! 😂 Oh well, worse things happen.

Last month although I powered up 50 Hive on the Power Up Day, I didn’t write the usual post, but today is time to get back on track and try my luck of winning some prizes. Cause there are prizes for participants and if you are not familiar with #HPUD check out @traciyork ‘s post here.

In short, the requirements to be considered for the prizes are:

My main account growth in July was… well, insignificant. Looks like I only posted 3 times and received benefactor reward for #hivegarden LPUD post, althought I know I made 2 more posts at the beginning of July that don’t show on the graph. Still… 5 posts on the main account is a rather poor performance.

You can see I did a fair attempt at #PUM - Powering Up 1 Hive a day until around 20th of July and then one day got lost and that’s my PUM badge gone 🙈 No wonder only around 60 people manage to get that badge each month. It’s not so easy remembering to Power Up/post 100% Powered Up post every single day of the month. I’ll try again in August though!

For the first time my alt account @fantagira7 experienced more growth than my main. Nice and regular candles too. That’s thanks to my regular #Actifit reports, which became even more regular during #Poliac competition. My #SaturdaySavers posts are also published from my alt, together with all gaming and financial topics.

Right, without making this post longer than it needs to be, let’s jump to the act. I transferred some of my Hive from my alt to main to make a nice round Power Up of 50 Hive to catch up for my slacking during the month.

Trust my order to get filled right after I Powered Up 😂 That’s not an issue though, I’ll need some loose Hive laying in my wallet to try my luck with PUM again this month.
