X update: THE X STRATEGY

The Addiction!

X is a great way to build and promote your brand. Also, it is now a way to earn cool cash. I will tell you in a minute.

INLEO – formerly Leofinance – sought a way to infiltrate web2 and onboard people to Hive. We all know that the fishes lie in web2. Great content creators. Which is what birth the Zealy campaign in the first place. Now, INLEO is after the engagement to pull people in and you just have to love the strategy and all, but I wondered, what if?

Daddy Musk has made X a place you can earn. All that is required is that you get monetized within 3 months. More explanation? You have to make 5 million impressions within the space of three months to be able to make money from Daddy Musk.

Now, I thought, what if I build a name and also get the money? You can not blame me, I am Nigerian. We are always after the benefit.

So, I decided to take a closer look. @tengolotodo, my buddy man, was there to help of course. Guy was like a mad man racking up those impressions like some sort of python. It was enviable honestly. And I wanted in. I just had one issue.

Verification.

HOW DO I GET VERIFIED?

The premium feature hasn’t been fully released to Nigeria yet. This means, while you can get to use the premium version, you can’t pay with your local bank unless you have a dollar card with them. So, what to do? Get a dollar card. The simplest way to do that is to use an app.

I used Eversend app. Very easy to use. How?

You would need to create an account with Eversend. That is pretty explanatory only when you get to the option where you should choose a bank, go for Wema. Globus is inactive.

Then, we fund your account from the account number you have been provided. I used N10,000 for the purchasing of dollar card and X premium. It is advisable that you send a little amount of money first to [as my friend says] disvirgin the account. The first transaction is really slow and could take up to thirty minutes to reflect. So, in order to be safe and not go into cardiac arrest, send N500 first and it is smooth sailing from there.

Now that your money reflects in your account, let us get you that dollar card.

First, convert your naira to dollar.

Go to the exchange option and select currency of preference [dollar in this context]. You would be taken to the exchange column and there you get your naira changed to dollar.

Moving forward, click on the card section and pick your color… [you will understand when you do it] and then proceed to purchase with about $1. The card comes with the whole package…

Then proceed to fund it. How? Click on the fund button and follow the instruction… Easy peasy. You have a funded dollar card.

Now, how do we get verified on X?

First, it is more advisable to pay via web. Also, if you are an iPhone user, you can be sure you will be charged more if you want to use the app. So best you go through web.

Using [preferably] chrome, login your X details. You need to have done the necessary which is verified your phone number and email to be able to activate this service. Also, one account to one card. Unless you want a ban.

The steps are simple enough and self-explanatory. So just follow them up and get that blue button. When you get that blue button, and you want to eat Daddy Musk’s money, try and rack up 5M impressions within three months.

It is not as hard as it sounds. I made 2M impressions in one week. The question is how?

Via INLEO strategy of course and a little bit of dash on my part. I joined an X community. The essence of communities on X is to foster engagement which leads to monetization and of course, exposure. Joining a community increases your circle and takes you further.

Many would notice that I repost on X a lot. It is also a part of the whole process. I learned that the X algorithm tracks not just your engagement progress but even others we may not have thought of. Every repost gets a certain number of views and these views are added to your impressions no matter how little.

Not only that, it pushes your possibilities of getting seen by a larger audience. Reposting takes you out of your circle and into someone else’s circle, widening the pool of exposure. One time, I had 15 profile visits for one repost. And out of 15, 10 followed me.

I still don’t understand this part as it seems to be backward but someone taught it to me in the community and it had proven effective so why not?

Comments is also a great way to gain exposure and impressions. Making comments on larger account in the weirdest of ways. That is a little secret. On X, pretend not to know. When you don’t know, “smart” people would want to show you the reigns or show you how stupid you are. Either way, drop the bomb.

X algorithm is very rigid now that a little thing can make you get a shadow ban. Give gap when following people. At least a minute to each account. Do not always be the first to comment and please, add a little spazz to your comments.

For we in Nigeria, you know how savage tweeps can be. Don’t let it get you down. Never reply rude comments and do not make rude comments. I can’t even begin to count how much of a lashing I have gotten for my very ‘stupid’ comments. But it brings eyes to my profile. People want to see who this ‘moron’ is.

But do not forget to promote your brand. It is advisable to post at least twice in a day. You can decide when to be professional and how between being goofy and silly. Also, you can leave a pinned tweet of your niche so it is the first thing people see when they visit your profile.

One thing I have also learned is that the algorithm resets every 7 days. This means that a clean slate starts and you have to build back up again after 7 days. So, if you notice a drop in your impressions, it just means it has reset.

For now, my content isn’t getting to those I want it to. The X community drive has given me more visibility than most though. It shows in the analytics.

This is the first of my X post. I know that soon, I will be able to dish out what I really want but for now, I am gaining exposure. Proof is, one influencer has replied to me twice while another has just liked my comments three times. One account with about 12k has reposted my comment, I think. Very small feats compared to most but it shows that I have to be doing something right.

I think I will end this here and keep y’all updated. I am still finding ground on X and have nothing tangible yet. I got to speak on Web3 spaces twice where I showcased Hive and INLEO. It turned into a ‘How To’ class which was pretty awesome. That was about it. I will stop now.
