The hive blockchain has been through a lot. There's a lot of vision and a lot of direction recently. Which was once centralized to blogging aka article marketing only has ballooned into video, shorts, twitter(x), gaming, nfts and so much more.

However a lot of this is currently done through external programs as Hive currently lacks a dedicated smart contract system. While it's been on the table for a while now I still haven't really heard anything more from the core dev team and instead what I'm seeing is a new DHF proposal to kick on one. For the rest of this article though I want to go over all of those current projects which are currently expanding Hive and what they offer and might be offering soon.

Video

One of the best parts of building content is via video. Major platform like youtube have created huge businesses out of it. Creating millions in profits while still giving around 65% of that income from Ads back to creators on their platform.

The biggest and most known of these decentralized solutions here on the Hive blockchain is called 3speak It prides itself in becoming a fully decentralized video platform.

Coming soon there's talks about implementing shorts directly into InLeo which will be a revolutionary step for the hive blockchain and put it back into the competition witht he likes of shorts, tiktok, reals etc.

The core of the hive blockchain are articles. Articles are a great way to share content and also still one of the best in terms of getting discovered by search engines.

Articles are here to stay and will most likely always be a critical part to any platform. It's why 25 years later they are still the number one way to drive traffic and get found. Now of course articles can be pushed next level by the creation of supporting videos and text to speech. This is also a area that the hive blockchain is working on with new AI tools.

It's clear that short form content is going to be around for a long time as well. Often cases short form content is a way to quickly explore and then go to longer form content.

The gaming space has grown. What was mainly just Splinterlands during the last bull run sparking one of the largest onboarding projects ever to the hive blockchain has now expanded to many other games.

For example woo game is expected to release by the end of this year. Land for Splinterlands is expected to launch in November (This has been delayed one too many times so I'm hoping this is the last) Muterra has seen some production levels increasing towards full game release and exode as well. There's also a new game prepper for a mid to late release in 2024 which shows us there is clear development happening in this area.

What we are seeing is Hive shaping up to really being that decentralized solution that web3 really wants and the grand vision of it. But there are still some core developments that need to happen to the chain itself in order for larger adoption to happen. My hopes are we can start to usher them in quickly before the next bull run takes hold.
