How soon is soon in the sooniverse?

Earlier today, I was watching the Cryptomaniacs podcast hosted by @jongolson and @taskmaster4450 on Twitter. In this episode, @khaleelkazi was a guest and they talked about a lot of crypto stuff.

In the episode, they talked about a bunch of interesting stuff and one of them was Project Blank. I'm keenly interested in the development of that project because it holds huge potential.

In the Podcast, Khal highlighted some stuff we already know about the project. Out of the things he mentioned, I was particularly interested in the part where he said that blanks will be custom Json transactions.

Now I don't know if Khal has mentioned it before in the discord or on Leofinance publication but this is actually something I've suggested in one of my previous publications.

No offence to the work d.buzz are trying to do but it still doesn't quite cut it. Khal highlighted a number of issues that includes the 5-minute interval between publications and reward issues as problems with hosting a short content platform directly on hive base layer.

In fact, a lot of niche social media-esque projects tend to suffer from the fact that the base layer and popular apps used to access Hive don't cater to their specific needs.

For example, if you're scrolling through Leofinance and you see a publication made with Dbuzz, you probably will feel like it is out of place. It is even worst when you don't now about Dbuzz and how it works.

It is pretty much the same thing with Liketu, which is basically trying to develop a photo sharing front-end for Hive users. If you look at these same publications outside Liketu application, you're not really going to appreciate them.

For me, the obvious solution is to completely separate them from everything happening on the base layer/long form content part of Hive blockchain. When these niche publications are viewed on their own platform, they'll be appreciated in a separate way.

Projet Blank will be a trailblazer

The beautiful thing about Project blank is that it already has a top layer investment house in Leofinance. So, in essence, value can easily be transferred between Leo and the Blank token, if we may call it that.

On top of that, there's also the fact that Project Blank already has an established community that is just waiting to pounce on the project whenever it comes out.

The fact that the project will leverage Custom Json transactions on hive means that users will need resource credit to participate. It also means that project blank may not necessarily work in the same way traditional Hive front-ends work.

So, in essence, the curation, upvoting and all that stuff might be different. However, with Khal keeping the cards close to his chest, we'll most likely know better when we're much closer to the release of the project.

Project Blank will also set the tone for many other projects that are looking to create their own niche front-ends on Hive blockchain. Khal talked about using Tiktok a lot and who knows, maybe one day we'll be seeing video content shared on the Custom Json side of things.

Hopefully, other projects will be looking at Project Blank and will be able to piggyback off the success and create something of that nature.

Hive is still evolving every day and there's still so much potential that we haven't actually tapped into.

Splinterlands has stretched the chain's capacity but we're nowhere near full capacity. In the future, projects like project blank will further stretch the blockchain, giving us a reason to upgrade and invariably giving us the competitive edge in the digital space.
