Is Hive blockchain a hobby or a business?
There is a fine line when it comes to hobbies that produce an income and businesses. But as you might start being on the Hive Blockchain as a hobby and as you continue to be present on it and tap into the abundance of projects and earning possibilities from here, you might find yourself at the point where the income is comparable to the one of running a business. And I think that this is the best thing that can happen: you are here because you like it and in addition you earn from it. You become this way your own boss, fact which provides you empowerment, builds confidence, inspire positivity and pushes you to do remarkable and out of comfort zone things.
Morphing from hobby to business
Some of us have different hobbies and to start with a simple example that can be like an interest in photography. This can start as a hobby by itself, but transposed on the Hive blockchain through sharing photos in articles, threads, snaps or buzzes or minting them in limited edition NFTs, it simply morphs into an additional revenue stream, a side hustle and even a full time job.

If I was to look at the evolution of my own content from the past till today, I can spot easily the path that I've taken and how I grew. Initially the writing was primitive, the knowledge and understand had gaps, but in time those improved and transformed into more clarity, freedom to play it technical concepts and even strong and opinionated beliefs. There is more quality now for the readers and I think the provided value can support decisions or bring a more in-depth view over things.
Rewards go beyond the financial
In the beginning some of us might have started being motivated by the financial aspect that a web3 Blockchain like Hive provides. But as we become more and more present in this ecosystem, we become more social, we network more and even end up collaborating in different projects. And this starts from common interests and passions, even if the financial component is there. And ultimately having all these ingredients, constitutes the perfect recipe for long term motivation and investment.
I can conclude that the Hive blockchain is a great ecosystem where hobbies can morph into business and maybe also vice versa. Having only the financial component in mind, will not keep us for long here. But in my case after being here for more than 7 years, both these dimension work together and keep me here. I feel that I found a cozy place which is not afraid of freedom if speech and which let's everyone of us shape a fun, social and even financial destiny by owning your data and everything else. And in the end this is all that matters, this is the way!

Like many things in life, time is a key factor in a growth process. Certainly many of us started on Hive with different perspectives, perhaps some as a source of monetary support while others saw the platform as a wonderful opportunity to do what you love and generate income.
Unfortunately today many have moved away from Hive because of the lack of support for their publications or certain injustices they believe they suffer, or simply because their expectations have not been as they thought. In any case, I think that if we see Hive from the perspective of being able to create, grow and support others while generating profits, we will be more and more committed to the work we do here.
For me, Hive is not just a Hobbie or a business, for me Hive is the place where I want to grow and make a life as a content creator and much more 🥰🤓.

Recently, I was thinking about the same thing, what is HIVE for me? On one side, it's not a business, as to be, I would have to take some profits out and cash out some earnings, as without doing that, it's not a business...
On the other side, it's not a hobby... If it were a hobby, I would occasionally do some stuff on HIVE, and I wouldn't have a feeling of being "addicted" to it! 😂
So, in the end, I have no idea how to define it... I suppose that for everyone HIVE can be something completely different... For me, maybe it's a place where I can sum up my thoughts, share things with others, share my experiences and views, and empower people who need to be empowered...

I would call it a digital home, similar with a vacation home on the seaside or a cabin in the mountains. ;)
To me Hive is my personal sovereignty-driven business, and as such, I give it the time, energy, and attention over time for it to succeed. I've been on the Blockchain for a little over 3 years now, and the more I've learned, and the deeper I've gone, the more passionately all-in for the long haul I've become. I give my all every single day, both for myself, and for everyone else in this glorious Ecosystem.
It's funny that you mentioned photography, as it was Hive that originally got me into it, as I began to participate in various photo contests. Over time photography grew into a passion that I practice every day. Now it's among the things that I love most. I've grown and expanded from my interactions with Hive, and in many ways. Hive taught me the incredible usefulness and power of setting and tracking goals, something that I never did before Hive. Hive is truly exceptional, and for many reasons. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

For me 100% hobby but I can totally see how people make business out of it. Especially when living in low cost countries, hive can make a big difference there

Been using Hive like this. Dip in between two worlds without the pressure of existing as one when burned out.
Hive has become part of my daily activity. Beyond just the finances which of course is motivating, I have through this platform learn to express myself and ideas. This is something that improves my daily living. There is a lot to get from here, let's just stick around with positive minds
