Writing a blog is better than writing a book
Motivation is something that we constantly need. But in order to be motivated, we have to see some small success continuously. Doing bigger things can take some time and in order to continue doing bigger things, we will still need motivation. Today we would be excited about something and that excitement will go away tomorrow if our starts going to some other thing. Bringing back the motivation can be a challenge. Imagine taking up on something and completing it on the same day. This is a big motivation achieve more the next day.
People are good dreamers and when they start dreaming, they think about reaching the top of a mountain. They don't think about or worry too much about the pathway to reach the top of the mountain. All that comes in front of the mind is reaching the top of the mountain, this is a good motivation but thinking about the pathway will let us move in that direction. Otherwise it will just stop as a dream.
Start doing small things
If we have to be successful on something, the first basic thing is to start doing. Before even starting to do something, we all dream a lot and think as if we are going to reach success today itself. The first push starts when we actually stop dreaming and start doing.
In order to do something, we have to plan and take some baby steps. Documenting what we should be doing and creating a task list out of it helps. We can have the most easy parts on the top and the difficult ones in the middle and again the easy ones towards the end. This way we will have a feeling that we have accomplished many things and that motivation will keep pushing us towards the difficult things that are in the middle and towards the end again when we get low the smaller things will make it easier to reach the finish line.
As the title says, we shouldn't be focusing on writing an entire book at the start. Some people might have the potential to do it and there is nothing wrong but on an ideal scenario, it is better to start writing a blog before we think about writing a book.
Motivation is in doing and not in doing big things
Many experts believe that motivation is very important to stay focused to reach the success line. Some people work for motivation than working for the compensation they get. If you look at people working in their 9 to 5 jobs, they give more productivity only if the job is interesting for them to do. Only a few people will give more productivity for the payment they get. It is believed to be the natural thing. Sometimes the money they get becomes the actual motivation and increase the productivity.
Sometimes there are multiple obstacles when we think of archiving something. The first obstacle can even be our brain lacking motivation. If we have smaller milestones to achieve, we can feed our brain with smaller success so that it gradually keeps working for the bigger one.
