Surprised to read about World's Richest Village

Today I read an interesting article about the world's richest village. I never thought this village would be in India, but I was surprised to see it in Kutch. I don't know how they do all this research and find out these things, as it is not very easy. Madhapar is a small village in Gujarat that is identified to have more Patels and Mistris. This is expected to be the richest village because it holds over Rs. 5000 crores in bank accounts across 17 branches. This information was posted by Sarthak Ahuja who is an investment banker.

Looks like 65% of the population of this place is living abroad. But they have not all completely left their village. Looks like they still keep their village as their financial base and that's why they are sending their money to the banks in their village. The regular deposits they make have made Madhapar one of the biggest per capita deposit centers globally.

Some people have the thought to migrate and move to other countries that are better and best. But this is one classic example where people don't want to forget their motherland and would like to come back at some point. These are the people who have left their motherland abroad for about 10 or 20 years. But they keep sending their money back to their homeland having a thought that they want to get back to it some day. There are so many places in India and other countries that are rich in industries like IT and other sectors that can earn a lot of money. But despite all that, this place becomes the richest because of the loyalty of its people, who don't want to abandon their hometown.

After reading this article, I even thought that this information may not be true or there might be some other place that has more millionares who might have so much money in their bank accounts, but we just don't know it yet. I still think it is possible, but with the transparency of data, we can find a super-rich place, and that too in India, which makes me feel that it does not matter which industry makes a lot of money, but just a group of people with good intentions can also make a huge difference.

Wow. This is really impressive, I love how patriotic they are. Some people will forget about their nation not just the village once they leave the borders of their country but this set of people did not. Just wow and impressive 😎

I wonder if the 65% got their understanding of Money from a firm or school. I know schools in India dont focus on the money dynamics, but what if this is the outcome of an exceptional school or a teacher? Just wondering.

I find this interesting as I can recall many of my customers who were Patel's used to or probably still do send money back to their villages. The one guy I knew was very wealthy and he sponsored schools and clinics in his village. These were shop keepers in the UK who were literally printing money at the time from their outlets. Just because someone works hard does not mean they are poor of have forgotten where they have come from and expect their kids will continue the tradition.

Very interesting finding. Such people are rooted in their ideals of their homeland to focus on building its financial base. They probably financially savvy too, know what they're doing and have a long term plan.
