I'm going to share my sad story where I had to sell my REC stock a couple of days back when the market is at its bad state. We know that the war is not treating stock markets and crypto markets very well. Crypto market needs next level of motivation, but that's a different topic altogether. But I believe the stock market is seeing a temporary downtrend because of the War situation, and I hope the market will recover soon when the dust settles down.
I have been an investor in the stock market for almost 10 years. Since 2015, I have been exploring the market, and I used to be a day trader back then, reaping some good profits every day with the help of margin trading. Today, all the stocks that I have been holding are long-term, and I have been holding them for at least 8 years now. I wanted to build a good portfolio there so that it becomes my good source of passive income in the future.

REC is a good stock, and I have been holding it for a very long time. I got a bonus a few years back. I was holding about 1000 stocks, and I got a bonus of 333 stocks a few years back. I did not sell them, and I was holding them as it is until a few days back I decided to sell them for a financial need. I also thought maybe I should be doing some day trading with this for a few days, but unfortunately, when I was selling the stock, that is when the stock price increased by about 3.5 percent, and it gave me a loss for about 4000 Rs. If I had sold the stock towards the end of the day, I would have gotten an additional 4000 Rs, but yeah, we know how Karma works right?
If you look at the above chart, I bought the stock around the time when the price was close to 90 Rs, and today I'm selling it for 335 Rs, which is pretty good, but this is one of the divident yielding stock in my portfolio, and I feel like I'm killing the duck that was yielding the golden egg. Hopefully, I would like to buy this back when the market falls a bit more. I'm glad that I'm not selling everything and still holding a decent amount of this stock.
Recently I have been spending a lot of money for my parent's medical expenses. After a certain age, there are a few health-related issues that we cannot avoid. My parents are suffering from a few health issues, and I'm trying to manage with my salary, but couldn't do it completely. That's why I had to touch my savings a little bit to manage the expenses. I recently broke one of my FDs, and now I have to sell a few stocks to manage my expenses. Hopefully, this is something that I can recover from by earning in the coming years. I think the decision to break my savings was better than going for another loan.

Hi, I don't know you, I just happened to read your post on #Hreplier. I'm so sorry about your parents; my grandparents are also sick and we need a lot of money, it's difficult. I hope you can find a solution soon and that your parents get better.

Respect for holding the stock for so many years and still staying positive 👍 Long-term patience really shows here. Do you think you’ll buy back REC again if the market drops further?
