It is amazing to see many new discoveries coming out now and then. Even though these news does not reach every individual, when we get to know these facts, it is really amazing. Today I read an interesting article that mentioned that plants also have microbiomes in their root system similar to the gut bacteria we have in Humans. More and more research works are being made to understand about the gut bacteria and their role in food absorption and overall well being of the body. Earlier we used to think that these good bacteria were helping only through the digestion process but now they have identified that they are very powerful and they can affect someone's mood and mind too.
Scientists connect gut bacteria with our brain functions and further researches are being made on this topic. Today it was very interesting to read that even plants share microbiomes similar to humans and their roles are also similar. If we pick a hand full of soil, we will be able to find millions of micro organisms in it and many micro organisms are not even into the human exploration. There can be micro organisms that can be both good as well as bad. The same can happen with plants too. These micro organisms interact with the roots and they send nutrients to the roots and at the same time they can even destroy the root of a plant if they are harmful micro organism.
More than how humans are exposed to micro organisms, plants are exposed easily as their roots are in the soil. But the fact is that they are dependent on those micro organisms to feed, fix nitrogen, consume water and even form as a protective layer when food and water is scarce. They play a very important role but we humans don't know much about them.
This is one of the primary reasons why we say that protecting the soil is very important if we have to protect the plants. If we keep adding chemicals to the soil for high yields, we will be destroying the micro organisms and ultimately poison the food that we consume. The article is very interesting and it has more information related to the microbiomes in the soil and how it is very useful for the plants. The article provides a lot of technical information about microbiomes. Anyone curious to study plants and would like to know more about them can give this a try.

Wow! I never knew about this, this is rich information. We really do need to take care of the soil, thanks for sharing
i have never heard of this! one really never ends to learn... interesting news
Now more and more people are turning to organic farming, or at least they tried to mix it with chemical based farming, so that the soil is still healthy because of the organic matter from the organic pratices, but also with the help of chemical fertilizer to help the needed nutrient that is not available through organic farming.
World is so delicate, things are connected to one another.

If we all want to avoid pollution, then we all have to protect the plants a lot and plant them in our homes and neighborhoods and protect them and water them on time. Only then will pollution be reduced.
They sure do.. lots of things all growing together to help each other.
