Options very limited for purchasing Mini PC from India
Whenever there used to be an offer for purchasing Mini PC on Amazon, I get notification in my google news. The reason is because I browse a lot trying to read more about Mini PC. It is unfortunately very sad to see that the options are very limited in India. For people who would like to purchase and use a mini PC very few brands are available and the specs are also not very great.
They all come with Windows
One thing that I hate about purchasing a laptop or a PC is that they all come with Windows on them. In a way it is good because we get an operating system to get started but my concern is that if they are not giving it with the operating system, it can even be slightly cheaper I think. I saw a few PC coming with Linux on them but I haven't tried it out. But I think it is a strategy to sell Windows to the users in one way or the other. Microsoft is clever in grabbing the market there.
Taxes are heavy
Even if we try to import some good brand of Mini PC like Minisforum from the US, the taxes are heavy right now and it becomes very costly to ship it from there. Unfortunately all the advanced products are available only in amazon.com and not in amazon.in. Maybe other countries are also having them but it becomes very costly to ship them to India. I tried checking the Bee Link website to see if I can get something from there. But after adding the mini pc to the cart, I noticed that India was not available in the country list at all.
Not so advanced in terms of technology
It is a very bitter truth that we don't have all the latest technology available in India. We are dependent on the other countries for the products. With the new initiative of make in India, hopefully we should be able to see many such products being produced in India itself than being dependent on the other countries. The trend is still there and the demand is very high right now for mini pc. Hopefully some companies will grab this opportunity and start creating products in India and list them on Amazon for a competitive price so that the demand can be fulfilled. Especially if things are created in India, it can be a lot more cheaper.
