Ever wondered from where the code on Chat GPT comes from?
Recently Github created a free tier for GitHub Co-pilot. We are in the revolutionary phase where AI will be the next biggest thing in the world. Many companies have started to understand this, so they have started investing a lot of money in AI and AI tools. If there are product-based companies, there is heavy pressure right now to introduce AI elements in their product. Some leading software providers have already released their products with some basic AI elements, and continuous improvements are happening.
Now coming to the topic, have you ever wondered where ChatGPT brings the code from? I had this question in my mind today and wanted to search Google and find answers. We all know how important AI is today and how Chat GPT is awesome in providing answers to our questions. The simple answer to this question is that the ownership of the code generated by Chat GPT is quite uncertain.
Sometimes I have noticed that Chat GPT picks answers from other places without knowing anything for sure. There have been instances where there would be logic issue but it can be a copy-paste from somewhere else. To tell it in the correct sense the code may not even be relevant or what we are looking for but it can happen. It is hard to predict from where the data is coming. Some of the training data can be an open source one and some of the data or details being brought from Chat GPT are from the same training data.
Now that we understand the data from Chat GPT comes from various places, we can use the AI only as the guide and we should continue to think rationally and come up with the necessary outcome. We can even say that the answers are coming from multiple sources based on the knowledge GPT already has. So it is very hard to predict if the information came from the right source or not. It is always good to have a proper understanding of the code that we are generating from Chat GPT and make the changes accordingly based on the need.
Sometimes I have noticed that the coding suggestions or snippets provided by Chat GPT has a lot of issues and it also mixes so many things. I have seen the code being out of standards several times. But I have to admit that it is a good starting place to convert our logic to code.

I find that the best way to get what you're looking for with ChatGPT is to be incredibly specific and give full context of what you're trying to achieve, while breaking your words down into the most descriptive form you can. Being specific in what you're asking, can give you better and more relevant responses! :) Human made, so it's far from perfect, but as much as it can be (If we assume it's purely code.) it tries it's best for us!
