I have the problem of reading physical books. I have tried reading books from a very young age but find it hard to focus or complete the book. I have not read any physical books since I was young. I have tried spending a lot of time in the library which is the most interesting place for me but I find it hard to read anything fully. Whenever I visit the library I usually start reading a book and read a few pages or chapters and after that, I don't.
I don't know why this was the case, but I was definitely a seeker of knowledge. I try to learn a lot from small readings, but not from bigger books. The same happens with my academic books, too. During my college and school days, I was dependent on someone to read the book and tell me what was in it, and based on that, I completed my exams.
I have subscribed to Audibles and have been paying for the subscription for almost 1 year. Ever since I started my subscription there is a pressure now that I have to listen to at least one book every month because I'm paying close to 200 Rs per month. Now and then I purchase some self-help books and listen to them. There are so many favorites for me. Some books I have even listened to more than one time.
One of the biggest advantage with listening is that everytime we listen to a book, we will be learning something new. The reason is that when we listen it for the second time, our brain will focus on individual details that got missed last time and it will usually not worry about the information that it already knows.
I also watch a lot of self-help and motivation videos on YouTube and if someone suggests a book I immediately go to audibles for the rating and purchase them. Some books have been a turning point for me. I have a huge collection of books now that have helped me a lot.
One of the biggest advantages of listening to books over reading is that when we are listening to a book, we can do other things. But if we are reading books, reading books is the only thing we can do because our minds eyes, and hands should be fully engaged. For listening it is very much enough if the ears and brain is involved and it should not be a big deal. People usually listen to these things when they are driving. The main reason is because the sub conscious mind is going to be driving and the active brain is going to be listening to the book.
But even though when I say it is better narration plays a very important role. If the naration is good the feel we get will also be good. Sometimes if we ready a book, we might have some imagination but when we listen to a book our imagination is going to be a little different and it can even be influenced or changed by the voice.

There are many people who can't focus while reading, audio books are for sure one of the solutions. My favorite way of content consuming is still reading physical book. However most of the time, I would say 90% of content I'm reading is in digital format, but physical book for me is irreplaceable as experience.
I'm also finding harder to focus with audio books I guess it has to do with speed by which content is consumed. Audio books are narrated with constant speed and if boring part comes along my brain goes to different track. With physical books I can choose reading speed and adjust focus as needed.

I used pocket FM and Kuku FM and wasn't happy with the content. Because instead of the books those app has the summerized version of those books and felt more like a knock off of the original book.
Haven't tried audible yet but now I am not sure that I want to try it.
I wanted to read Mahabharata but the version I got is someone's interpretation of the Mahabharata which is infuriating.
Anyway, which book you completed in the audible and how's the sounds quality and the voice of the reader?

Audibles seem like a very good one. I’m someone who prefers to listen than read and that’s why a lot of us prefer videos to books
It is better to listen than to read a book, it can be very boring to read. Apart from this, one of its great advantages is that the books can be listened to at any time. The problem is that you may fall asleep while listening to a book.
this piece encourages readers to consider their personal preferences and circumstances when choosing how to enjoy books, making it a valuable reflection on the evolving landscape of literature consumption.
