Truth or Dare? (2018) --- a simple game turned deadly! XD

It's been a while since I posted a movie review. I do watch some movies once in a while, sometimes alone, and sometimes with my family. We lost our TV to the flood last year, so we watch movies either on my laptop or tablet. The screen isn't as big as it used to be, but we can still enjoy watching movies together.

However, the movie I'm sharing this time is something I watched alone. My mom isn't into this genre, so even if I invite her to watch together, she wouldn't. hahaha

The movie I'm talking about is called Truth or Dare?.

During their vacation, Olivia was invited by her best friend Markie to go on a trip to Mexico together with their other friends. During their last night there, Olivia ran into Ronnie, another student from their school. He wasn't that pleasant to be with, as he started to harass Olivia until an unknown guy intervened.

That guy was named Carter. He ended up befriending Olivia and eventually convinced her to go for drinks at some interesting and isolated place together with her friends.

Carter then initiated a game of Truth or Dare. It was fun at first, until it became awkward and strange. It ended with Carter revealing that he deceived Olivia... and that it was his dare to bring more players in.

He warned Olivia that the game would follow them, and that they must not refuse to play it... otherwise, it'll take their life.

To be honest, I didn't really expect much from the movie. I'm used to watching a group of friends exploring somewhere, getting cursed, and trying to survive as some of their friends die one after another. It's the same pattern, but for some reason, it's entertaining to watch.

This movie was the same... I didn't hate it, though. It was entertaining, and I like the fact that the characters had a backstory. It's interesting how the game revealed their deepest and darkest secrets. It makes the viewers, including me, intrigued. And there weren't really annoying characters like in other similar films. There's usually that annoying female character that you always wish to be killed first, but ends up surviving. However in this one, not really... maybe just that one dude. XD Hahaha

I also like how some issues like family, friendship, relationships, careers, etc., were tackled in the film.

The death scenes remind me of Final Destination, though... and I like that movie (especially the first one).

All in all, it wasn't a bad movie. I can see myself watching it again with my cousins. We enjoy this kind of movie for the thrill and laughter over some stupid characters. hahaha

Would I recommend it? Well, if you don't mind the cliche horror involving young people story, then it's a good watch. Perhaps just watch it when you don't have other movies on your list, or just want to kill time.

Anyway, I'll end my post here. Thanks a lot for checking it out! See you around! (^^,)/
