I Am Not Okay with This (TV Series) --- not OK for not having Season 2!!! T_T

I took the afternoon off today because I was mending some of our clothes. As usual, I'm quite the multitasker, so I decided to watch something on Netflix while doing so. I watched a short American TV series instead of an anime, so I won't need to read the subtitles. LOL And it seemed interesting based on the trailer.

The series I'm talking about is called I Am Not Okay with This.

The story is about a teenage girl named Sydney whose father committed suicide, and she's yet to come to terms with it. Because of the situation, she's also not on good terms with her mother, and her only solace is her best friend Dina.

However, Sydney's relationship with Dina turned complicated when the latter started dating the school jock, Bradley... and on top of that, Sydney started catching feelings.

All these situations led Sydney's emotions explode, and she discovered that she has telekinetic powers. She was at a lost, and that's when Stanley came into the picture.

Stanley, her eccentric neighbor and classmate, somehow became his support. Though things are also quite complicated with him, he was the only person aware of Sydney's powers.

The series is mainly about Sydney's journey of learning about her powers and living her complicated life as a teenager.

I am NOT Okay with this series not getting a second season!!!! The second season was officially cancelled because of the pandemic, but it's such a waste not to! It has so much potential, and I actually love the series!

Each episode is only around 20-25 minutes, so it's easy to watch... and every scene is interesting because it's not dragged. I love dark comedy like this, and the characters are also amusing. I admire eccentric characters with substance like Stanley, so he's an obvious favorite. haha

Story-wise, it's also pretty good. It was a great balance of topics and issues to portray, including family, relationships, supernatural powers, self-discovery, and so on.

It was a great watch for me, but it ended in a cliffhanger! hahaha WTF! XD I wouldn't mind it ending that way if there were a second season, but unfortunately, it was cancelled. Despite that, I still recommend this series, though.

If you don't mind it being a cliffhanger forever, it's a fun watch. Fun in a dark way, btw. haha
