I just saw the last episode of the series and I couldn't wait any longer to share a review about it. I came across the series in a friend's movie list and I decided to see it without asking much questions about it for two silly but okay reasons... The lead characters and the expected setting (Hospital).
I don't know if it's just me but I find hospital settings in movies more interesting to see, maybe it explains my love for saving lives and the healing magic doctors perform in surgical rooms after hours. This series is no different but there's more and that more got me hooked till the end in awe.
Why would a vampire become a doctor? Why work in a cancer hospital to deal with blood everyday?! This series is set to make you wonder as you keep watching.
"Blood" is a 20 episodes Korean drama series released in the year 2015 and starred by our girl from "Boys over flowers" (Ku Hye-Sun) and Ahn Jae-Hyun from "Cinderella and the four knights". These are popular series which I believe if you've seen, you'd imagine what more to expect in this series having them both starred in.
The storyline goes like... A vampire "Park Ji Sang" begins to work in a cancer hospital with the ulterior motive of finding out a cure for his state, a cure to the virus (VTH-01) which he got infected with and in the process, he meets "Yoo Ri Ta", a snooty female doctor who's good at her medical job and "Lee Jae-Wook", another doctor who is turned out to be a vampire too. Strange things began to happen in the hospital, Ji Sang and his friends worked together to find a source and solution together... This brought them a lot of challenges alongside revealed secrets as doctors and as friends.
I must say this series is full of unexpected scenes especially with the part that human doctors are turning out to be vampires and infecting patients intentionally by promising long life and good health.
Our lead character who's a vampire showed us a lot more of the powers a vampire has which I find really interesting to see.
Park Ji Sang played his role really well and I couldn't get enough of his attitude until he got closer to his friends and began to act more human. The female lead role wasn't so satisfying for me as I got annoyed at some point with her annoying questions and actions when she isn't supposed to. But I figured it is a movie and she is only playing the role she was given.
Another character I can't believe I actually like even though he is the villain in the series is "Lee Jae-Wook", the man who infected himself with the virus to live a long life and also tries to inject more humans in the hospital promising long lives to the families.
One sweet thing to look forward to in this series is the comedy and thrilling scenes that they made sure to keep active from start to finish. If you're a fan of surgical scenes, you'll love this series for that too. What I'm still surprised about is the character that played the role of Ji Sang's personal doctor, he is not one to play a less significant role as that in a series... I mean, he's the lead character from D.P hehe
The series had an unexpected end but the watch was definitely worth it, I enjoyed it as much as my siblings did. I'll rate it a 8/10 and recommend you check it out too.
I'm not much of a series watcher, not Asian movies but some are interesting, and this one I think it is. Excellent review.
I'll see if I can watch Blood.
Cheers.

I saw the movie 2015 and my main reason was that two female lead and male lead were actually married at the time.. but I think they got divorced the next year
I enjoyed the movie because I loved hospitals and how they go on to save lives and the infusion of vampires.
Wow I thought I read that part wrong on the internet lol
The marriage didn't last, I wonder why π₯²

Hmm, the story seems interesting, a story that I seldom encounter.
Yeah it is, you should see it π
I will.
I remember back in SS2 when my mates would rave all about this movie. I'm surprised to see that it's still accessible to watch. Maybe I'll give it a try, although I'm not a fan of K drama.
The plot sounds amazing, and as for the annoying girl, there is always that annoying girl character in every Korean series, that everybody hatesπ .
Nice review dear!
Lol it's still very much accessible hehe
I hope you do check it out soon.
