Children? Those little humans will drive you crazy, annoy you, give you a panic attack, and still work around freely like they never did anything wrong, not fair!!
Raising a child is a full-time job, one where you have to always be on your toes, checking, deciphering, and anticipating, so you’re not taken unawares. Whoever belittles the role of raising a child needs to be checked as it’s not always rainbows and sunshine, it’s real work.

Stay with me, I’m about to share a story with you guys.
Yesterday at about 7:00 pm, just as I was about to open the door of my apartment, I saw my neighbor and since I didn’t see her little daughter with her I jokingly said, “Where’s our little princess, hope she didn’t lock herself inside the house?” The response I got almost gave me a panic attack. My neighbor burst into tears and confirmed that she truly locked herself inside the house.
For a split second, I couldn’t believe what I heard, how on earth was my silly joke true? I flung my things in my apartment and went straight to my neighbor's apartment. Lo and behold, our little princess was in there, crying and trembling.
There was no way all the videos I have watched of kids locking themselves inside the house were playing in front of me.
This child was 1 year and 5 months, and she couldn’t talk or understand us properly.
The mother’s tears did nothing to help the situation as it only made the child panic more.
We tried to calm her mother down and tried our best to open the door. All of these were happening by past 7 when shops that specialize in such cases were already closed.
We couldn’t pick the lock, nor could we bust it open as the door was bolted from inside, making it difficult to open. The door was an iron door, big, strong, and firm.

While trying to direct her from the window to open the door, our little one wasn’t having it as she was crying and trembling nonstop so we had to stop immediately.
Tension and emotion were rising, we were lost, nothing could have ever prepared us for a day like that.
While we tried all we could do, my neighbor asked I bring my knife, she used the knife to unscrew the knots on the window net, making it easier to see her daughter. She tried to pacify her several times so she could direct her again, but this time it became worse.
We tried to use everything at our disposal to undo the bolt, but the place was dark, and there was little or nothing our flashlight could do.
While going back and forth, I remembered my friend had fixed a nail on my mop stick several months ago for one of her projects, and I was too lazy to remove the nail. I immediately brought the mop stick, and after a few minutes of listening to the sound of the bolt and studying it, we were able to open the door.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have never been so happy as I was that day, my joy was on another level. I wasn’t just happy that we opened the door but also happy that a minute thing like a nail on my mop stick was able to save the day.
We were filled with so many emotions that night, we cried, laughed, hugged, and prayed. That was our little miracle and we were thankful that things didn’t get so bad.
So yeah, kids will always be kids but we just have to love them regardless😃

This was honestly terrifying to read, I can only imagine how much worse it was to experience in real time. It really puts into perspective how much emotional labour and constant alertness goes into raising a child as one small moment can turn into a full-blown crisis. Thank God it ended safely. Also, that mop stick with the nail? Absolute MVP. Lol. Sometimes it’s the most random things that saves the day.
I can imagine the tension , motherhood is really a difficult task, especially with toddlers, communication is usually difficult, especially in tough situations.
Thank God there was a solution, and the fact that the solution came from something so little is really marveling.
no es sencillo sobre todo cuando están pequeños, pero todo a su paso y que bueno que encontraron solución
It is not easy, especially when they are little, but everything is in their own way and it is good that they found a solution.
