Hello my beautiful Hive world, it's been over a month since I last made a post. Many unfinished post on my draft but too occupy to publish.
Honestly, I miss it, writing out my thoughts, reading your comments and interacting with others and yes your support.๐
But as a new mom with a toddler , I just needed that break to prioritize myself, my baby and to heal. This is a delicate period for me but I'm taking each day at a time, embracing the journey and more importantly enjoying every beautiful little moment that comes with it. Yes, there are a lot of those in the mix of the chaos. Now that I get that out of the way, let's dive into my topic of today.
Every Parent's Paranoia
Don't take that name seriously, it's just a label we coin out of our experience lol.
Have you ever taken a look at your newborn and got freaked out because you are wondering if they are still breathing? Here is my hilarious story that happened recently hehe.
I woke up around midnight to check on my newborn our first night after leaving the hospital.
It has been a long three days at the hospital, so on our first day at home we gave him a long warm bath with a full body massage. This made him have such a long sleep that freaked me out.
I took a look at him on his bed, he was so peaceful, too peaceful for my peace of mind. I touched him, and I couldn't feel his breath. At this point I wasn't alarmed yet but I carried him, and he felt so soft in my arms. I shook him for a while before I could hear his heartbeat.
To be fully sure, I breastfed him before my mind could rest. Guys, I was already shaking before I could manage to get him stretched his body. But I try to remain cool and not to alert my husband. I took a deep breath and said "he is alive" I whispered into his ears, please don't sleep this kind of sleep ever again lol ๐ and thank goodness, he never freaked me out like that ever since.

But I tell you what, sometimes I look closely to make sure he is breathing whenever he sleeps for a long time hehehe. A post I saw online a few days ago reminded me that I'm not alone on this. As parents, these bundles of joy can sometimes freak us out every now and then with the way they sleep, appearing as if they are not breathing. The story above is about my second baby. The similar thing happened with my first baby and I thought I would get used to them sleeping like that, but obviously I'm not hehe.
While I was growing up, I was such a deep sleeper, sometimes I would hear my dad telling my mom, "please go and check on her to be sure she is still breathing hehe" she has been sleeping too long. Sometimes I was already awake, just too weak to get up from my bed. And hearing my dad talks like that makes me smile ๐ I would later joke about it with him. My dad will say, "you won't understand until you start having your own baby". And trust me now I get it.
Are you a parent? Or have had to experience this with the babies in your care, share your experiences with me in the comment section and let's have fun together about this every parent's paranoia ๐.
Till some other time, that will be all for now. Byeโฃ๏ธ

Thank you ๐
That feeling is so scary for real, I was just smiling and panicking while reading this post.
My sister shared a similar experience with me years ago. She said, she stayed calm, was saying her prayers silently and panicked internally, just like you did.
Another part of this post that got me smiling is the fact that you have had this experience twice and still reacted same way. Motherhood comes with alot of packages for real ๐.
I really enjoyed reading this post, it's such a beautiful piece that shows the love and responsibilities it takes to be a mom โค๏ธ
Haha, you see, it's a universal thing. After my first experience I thought they won't be able to scarede me anymore but I was wrong hehe.
Thank you for your comment dear, it make me smile.
I wish you an awesome sunny โ๏ธ๐ day.
I understand that feeling perfectly ๐, I think it's common with parents, sometimes when my kids are sleeping I usually go check them to make sure they are still breathing and all is well with them and I am not the only one guilty of this because their dad also does the same thing ๐
It's good hearing from you again, trust you and the family are doing great ๐ค
Hahah, it's something we all do. They way they sleep sometimes can make our heart jump lol.
Thank you very much dear Ozd, my family and I are well.
Will come back to read later ๐ฅฐ..
