Paris from the Seine: A Journey Through History 🇫🇷🛥️

Continuing our cruise along the Seine River, we began to discover why seeing Paris from the water is such a special experience.

From the boat, the city feels like a moving museum. Bridges, palaces, monuments, and centuries of architecture appear one after another while we simply sit back and enjoy the journey. The cloudy sky followed us throughout the cruise, but somehow it gave Paris an even more characteristic atmosphere.

Here are some of my favorite views from this part of our trip. 📸

📸 1. Pont Alexandre III

One of the first spectacular sights was the Pont Alexandre III. Its golden sculptures immediately stand out against the gray Parisian sky. Even before passing underneath it, you can understand why it is considered one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris.

Getting closer gave us an even better look at the incredible decoration of the bridge. The combination of stone, gold, sculptures, and ornate lamps makes it look more like a monument than simply a way to cross the Seine.

📸 3. A final look at Pont Alexandre III

As our boat continued along the river, we passed right beside its enormous stone pillars. Seeing these details from water level gives you a completely different perspective from walking across the bridge.

📸 4. The National Assembly from the river

Another impressive building appeared along the banks of the Seine: the Palais Bourbon, home of the French National Assembly. Paris has an incredible ability to place history almost everywhere you look.

📸 5. Musée d'Orsay

The unmistakable giant clock revealed our next landmark: the Musée d'Orsay. Before becoming one of Paris' most famous museums, this beautiful building was originally a railway station. From the Seine, its monumental façade and clock are impossible to miss.

📸 6. A memory together on the Seine ❤️

Of course, not every photograph has to be of a monument. One of my favorite parts of this trip has been sharing these experiences with my son. Behind us, Paris continued passing by while we captured another small memory from our adventure together.

📸 7. Institut de France

The elegant dome of the Institut de France was another beautiful sight from the boat. Cruising along the Seine really makes you appreciate how much architecture and history are concentrated along its banks.

📸 8. Notre-Dame appears ahead

And then came one of the views I was waiting for: Notre-Dame Cathedral. Seeing its famous towers appear ahead of us from the river was a special moment.

After seeing so many photographs of Notre-Dame throughout my life, approaching it aboard a boat on the Seine felt completely different.

This cruise has turned into much more than simply another activity in Paris. It is a way of connecting many of the places we have heard about for years into one continuous journey through the city.

Every few minutes there is something new to see, and sometimes you don't even know where to point the camera first. 😄📸

And our journey along the Seine isn't over yet... 🇫🇷🛥️
