How are you? I hope you're having a wonderful day today — one that’s even better than yesterday. 😊 It's 11:51 PM local time here in Thailand, and here I am, sitting in front of my laptop, trying to squeeze out some thoughts before the day ends. Just another late-night journal, capturing little moments of life and sharing them here on the HIVE community — the social media blockchain that turns stories into something timeless.
Anyhow, before I dive into writing anything today, I figured I need to make myself a cup of coffee — just a little brain booster to get things working. LOLZ. ☕😄
Many of you probably already know that Vietnam is one of those places where you can find a café on almost every corner. You can literally smell the aroma of coffee in the air — it’s like heaven for coffee lovers and café explorers. ☕✨
They have so many variations of coffee and tea, especially since each barista loves to put their own twist on the drinks and create their café’s signature style.
Personally, I fell in love with the original taste of their coffee — the classic hot coffee with milk. You’ll never find that same flavor anywhere else in the world… unless they bring their own condensed milk and Vietnamese coffee with them!
But what makes it even more unique is the way people there enjoy their coffee. They can spend hours chatting with friends over just one cup — especially the strong iced milk coffee, which actually tastes better as the ice slowly melts.
To really enjoy it, you have to be patient — sip by sip, letting the flavors blend while you relax and enjoy small talk with your friends. It’s more than just a drink… it’s a whole vibe.
Another thing that makes their coffee culture so unique (at least in my opinion) is how they love to sit outside the café, just watching the traffic go by — especially during peak hours — while casually chatting with friends.
Oh, and the chairs? Super low to the ground! 😅 Sometimes I even struggle to sit on them properly. LOLZ.
But honestly, it’s such a unique combo — the street view, the chatter, the tiny chairs — and I absolutely love it. It’s all part of the charm!
At last day in Vietnam , im taking oppurtunity to sit outside of CONG CAFE which located just a block away from my hotel to enjoying my evening drinks. It still not many people at that time because the sun still not set yet , ermm maybe the night come about another 20 minutes later.
I ordered one of their specialties: Cacao Que (Đá/Nóng) — Vietnamese cocoa with cinnamon, served iced.
I was actually craving coffee, but since my wife didn’t want to order anything, I went with a cocoa-based drink instead. That way, at least she could take a sip if she felt like it. 😄 Thoughtful husband points, right? It cost 56,000 VND which was about $2.20 , and i feel that was cheaper for the special drink and that place.
Here come the drinks :
much smoother — probably because it was blended with ice and had a hint of cinnamon on top.
Personally, it was okay — not bad at all! But for me, it just couldn’t beat Vietnamese coffee (you know, coffee addict here ). Still, it was a nice change and perfect for the moment.
Here’s a quick snap from before the crowd showed up
As night started to fall, the crowd slowly rolled in. The quiet little café I was chilling at began to fill up — people laughing, chatting, catching up after a long day. The energy shifted, and it felt like the city was waking up again, just in a different way.
For those who couldn’t handle the heat (or just really love aircond 😅), there were comfy seats inside too. It was nice and cool in there — perfect if you just wanted to sip your drink in peace and escape the sticky night air.
Outside though, it had its own charm. The sounds of scooters buzzing by, the low murmur of conversations, and that laid-back vibe that makes you want to just sit there a little longer. Whether you came for the coffee, the people-watching, or just to take a breather — this little café had something for everyone.
I really enjoyed the view, the crowd, and the constant hum of motorbikes passing by — it all added to the charm. This is definitely one of the reasons I’d want to come back here again. The culture and vibes are different from what I’m used to, but I liked it a lot.
We headed back to our hotel after sitting there for about two hours. It was such a nice experience — one of those simple moments that me and my wife will probably talk about for a long time.
But then it was time to pack everything up because we needed to get to the airport early.
Quick travel tip: If you're flying internationally from Vietnam, don’t arrive at the last minute. The queues can get really long — from baggage drop-off to immigration to the personal item checks, it all takes time.
Also, don’t wait too long to get to your departure gate. Most of the time, they use shuttle buses to take you from the terminal to the plane, and that can easily take another 30 minutes. So yeah… better safe than sorry!
That’s all for today — thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this little journal, and I’ll see you on the next journey! ✈️😊
