Perhaps one of the reasons for this strong bond is the cherished memories I have of my (Nana Abu) grandfather. He was a retired soldier who loved to hunt, and I had the good fortune to spend nights in the forest with him. Even though there are no forests in our city, he used to find some places where we used to spend time. My passion for the outdoors flourished during those times, and I also picked up his love of fishing.
Amazingly, my wife has supported this adventurous side of mine, and surprisingly these activities have been passed down to my own children.
Last Thursday, my wife @nazneen-ansari messaged me with excitement, sharing her discovery of a rapids at Gysinge brimming with picturesque scenery, located approximately 150 kilometres north of Stockholm. Without hesitation, we made plans to visit this enchanting location over the upcoming weekend. The anticipation and thrill of embarking on another countryside adventure fill my heart with joy.
As we entered the charming village of Gysinge we were immediately drawn to the mesmerising sound of running water. After crossing three bridges, we parked the car and headed towards the fourth bridge. The Rapids of Gysinge, nestled along the picturesque river, turned out to be a natural wonder that left an indelible mark on my soul.
As we stepped onto the bridge, a breathtaking sight unfolded before our eyes the Rapids of Gysinge. Nestled along the picturesque river, this natural wonder unveiled itself in all its glory.
The rushing waters, adorned with frothy cascades and swirling currents, held an undeniable power that filled the air with an electric energy. The sound of the roaring rapids echoed through the serene surroundings, creating a symphony that seemed to harmonise with the very heartbeat of nature.
We stood there in awe, mesmerised by the untamed beauty that unfolded before us. The rapids showcased the sheer force and strength of the river, reminding us of the immense power that nature possesses. The sight was both humbling and exhilarating, leaving an indelible mark on our souls.
Just beyond the bridge, we discovered the inviting CafΓ© and Naturum "Nature Information Museum". To our delight, the cafΓ© happened to be open that day, although typically it only operates from July onwards.
Excitedly, we planned to indulge in ice cream treats and immerse ourselves further in the serene surroundings. However, our joy quickly turned to concern when my eldest son, Saif, suddenly began to bleed from his nose.
Our focus immediately shifted to tending to Saif's needs and ensuring his well-being. After finding a peaceful spot by the river to rest and care for Saif, we reluctantly decided it was best to cut our visit short.
Gysinge is a truly beautiful and charming place that we fell in love with. Even though our visit was short, it left us wanting to come back for more. We knew we had to return one day to explore and learn about the village's fascinating history.
This was really something that I have never experienced before. The view was wonderful and cant be described to someone, you just want to sit and watch the water flowing by β€οΈ. But there was surely much more to explore and I want to go there once again π
