USA - Lights Camera Action At Universal Studios Hollywood (Part 1)

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Hokkaido), Maldives, Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta), I was going through my past travels to see which would be the next interesting country or city to share, and I finally shortlisted New York, USA!

As you would have known from my past posts, my first trip to USA was a work trip to New York. Because I only had two days for sightseeing, I wrote about how I had to speed run through some of the major attractions in New York. You can read all about them here:

Several years later, I actually managed to visit USA again, and this time, it was for a holiday to the West Coast of USA and because the trip spanned across two weeks, there's definitely lots to unpack and share so sit back, and enjoy the sharings! You can read the earlier posts over here:

For the last major attraction in Los Angeles, we visited Universal Studios Hollywood! It's amazing that this city has two major theme parks and it definitely makes for a great place for families to visit too.

First up, a picture of the iconic globe! This is always a must do for me whenever I visit Universal Studios. So far, apart from Hollywood, the other one that I have been to would be the one in my home country Singapore.

We were early and the gate hasn't opened yet! Haha!

And then we were in! I remembered they always like to say "Lights, Camera, Action" in the theme park and it's no surprise because they were all about the movies. For me, I am not a crazy movies fan but I do watch some of the popular ones so I could recognise some of the characters roaming around the theme park.

And it's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Just look at how much thought was put in to create the architecture and "snow" atop the buildings, together with the castle right at the end. Really amazing!

And of course, right at the entrance, and aptly so, was the Hogwarts Express! Choo choo!

There were many little shops within these buildings, selling candies, selling merchandise, though I felt the beauty was in the exterior.

Readers who followed the story would know what this poster was all about. Hehe!

And we arrived at the castle! The biggest ride in this area was inside the castle. But as you would know, I have motion sickess so I couldn't take these rides, so I just chilled outside while I waited for my friend.

There's another milder ride as well, probably meant for the kids too.

And they sold sweaters from all 4 houses in Hogwarts!

Finally, who could resist a cup of butter beer! By the way, this is a non alcoholic drink even though the name contains the word "beer". Anyway, it was a sweet and refreshing drink to end up the visit in this area, and it was time to get some lunch before we moved on to the rest of theme park!
