USA - From Sea Lions at Pier 39 To Skyline At Oakland Bay

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Hokkaido), Maldives, Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta), I was going through my past travels to see which would be the next interesting country or city to share, and I finally shortlisted New York, USA!

As you would have known from my past posts, my first trip to USA was a work trip to New York. Because I only had two days for sightseeing, I wrote about how I had to speed run through some of the major attractions in New York. You can read all about them here:

Several years later, I actually managed to visit USA again, and this time, it was for a holiday to the West Coast of USA and because the trip spanned across two weeks, there's definitely lots to unpack and share so sit back, and enjoy the sharings! You can read the earlier posts over here:

On one of the days in San Francisco, we headed to Pier 39, which was a popular tourist attraction. It's a mall built on a pier and there were many restaurants over there. And also, it's famous for something interesting which I will reveal later!

It was bustling with activity when we got there! And since it was during lunch time, we were really spoilt for choices with the amount of food options there. I was told by a friend that I got to try their seafood!

We walked around to soak in the sights and sounds as well as to explore the various food options too.

And finally we decided on trying this restaurant, called Fog Harbor Fish House! I thought the structure of the restaurant looked pretty unique too!

This was a seafood dish which I ordered! It was yummy!

And the must-try Clam Chowder!

After lunch, we had energy to walk around in the area and we found the main star of this place, and they are the sea lions! It's so surprising to so many sea lions gathering at this area, and their endless calls and sounds were something I remembered till this day.

I walked down the stairs to get closer to these raft looking platforms to snap another close up photo! Really very interesting to experience this!

And then we headed to Oakland Bay area and took a sightseeing bus across the Bay Bridge. It's one of the longest bridges in US and it really took a while to get across to the other side.

And the reward for getting across was that we would be able to catch the skyline of San Francisco from the other end! Look how far the city was!

Another amazing day at San Francisco as I got to experience great food, awesome views, and an interesting encounter with the sea lions! And it's because of these experiences that make people want to travel and explore the world because every different city has its own culture and something to offer.
