South Korea - Adventures At Lotte World

20190102_113231.jpg

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and United Kingdom, I was browsing through my photos to see where I should write about next.

And interestingly, I realised I haven't posted about Seoul, South Korea, despite having visited a few times. My first trip was in 1998 when my parents brought me overseas. Thereafter, I visited Seoul with friends back in 2019, and then last year 2025, and then last month in 2026, where I fell and injured myself. You can read more about it here.

Like the saying goes, you get back where you fall. So it's probably about time I write about my Seoul adventures. Starting from the 2019 one. Hehe.

Here's my earlier post(s) from this series!
South Korea - Discovering Seoul From Above

One of the key attractions that is a must visit for tourists to Seoul would be Lotte World! It is a theme park with an interesting twist, because actually they have quite a huge range of activities other than the usual rides and rollercoaster!

This was their indoor section, and it was really huge and bustling with music, performances and crowds.

I had fun exploring the place, looking at the stuff and soaking in the sights and sounds.

They had a performance stage and for those whose legs are tired, it's also a good resting point to recharge too.

They have a ice skating rink too! How cool is that? It's still early and there are already quite a number of people having fun!

What eventually caught my attention was these hot air balloon at the top of the indoor building! How cool would it be if we could take a ride and look down to the whole theme park? So we went to queue for our turn!

Almost our turn!

Yay! View from the top! That's the rollercoaster!

So fun to look down from a height and see the crowd below!

That's the next hot air balloon ahead of us!

This should be the Viking ship!

We also spent some time outside the outdoor theme park. Most of it were rides so it wasn't my cup of tea and we took some photos and went to grab lunch.

So that's our visit to the Lotte World theme park. What struck me was the area of the compound and the liveliness of the place. The vibes were definitely on point and I especially enjoyed the hot air balloon ride in the indoor section. As some of you might know, I do have motion sickness, so in a way, there is a limit of the activities I can do in these theme parks, but I am glad I still managed to enjoy myself this time!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Seoul or South Korea? Let me know in the comments below!
