It was a sunny day. Despite the hot weather my friends agreed to go for a steamy bath. So everyone decided to go to Mainit Hot Spring.

Mainit Hot Spring is located at Brgy. Villa Vicenta, Caibiran, Biliran, Philippines. It is just a 20 minute ride from my home and a 10 minute ride from the National Highway. It is best to come using a private transportation. On the way there, you could also appreciate the view of the mountains and trees.

To reach the hot spring, we needed to cross the river. I felt sad that the water is brown.

Mainit Hot Spring has been considered as one of the tourist spot in Biliran due to its natural volacanic warm water. Locals believed that the mineral-rich, sulfur warm water helps sooth joint pains and poor blood circulation. Mainit Hot Spring features two shallow man made concrete pools that are being filled everyday with warm water. Beside it is also a natural river where volcanic water also flows.

It was my first time to come here and honestly. It was not really what I expected. My friends told me that during their first visit years ago, the water was still on rocks but they have made it into a pool. Also, I was expecting to have enjoyed the river, yet the water is brown due to an ongoing mining according to the caretakers. So, I just simply enjoyed what is there like the mini apple trees and somehow I ended up enjoying the pool when it was fully filled with the warm water. I just also enjoyed the company of my friends, talk about some stuff and our favorite part is to eat together. All of us enjoyed the yummy food
I imagined how better it would be if the weather is cold or rainy. Yet, the weather during the time is extremely hot. So could you imagine how terribly hot it is. I canโt help but laugh when I realized.

Mainit Hot Spring is on continous development. Upon our visit there are cottages which you could rent for $5-$6 dollars and an entrance fee of .64$ for adults. You can bring your own food. It is best to come at noon when the pools are already fully filled and coming on the perfect weather.
Anyway, I found many things I still appreciate today like the roadtrip view, the food and the fun camarederie. We went home happily after lunch.
