Our First Stop in Brussels: St. Mary Magdalene Church.

Hello my fellow travelers!

This is the continuation of our trip to Belgium. We arrived in Belgium at night,the morning finally gave us our first chance to see the beauty of the place.

We were all excited to begin our new adventure. And our first destination was Brussels.

From Charleroi train station, we traveled by train toward Brussels. We carried our own packed bag and hopped on the train. We had our comfortable seats, and we enjoyed looking through the window. The fast speed of the train even allowed us to look at the beautiful scenery outside.

The city felt busy when we arrived at the station. After that, we put our packed bags in the locker so we have a comfortable way of strolling through the city.

It was roaming around the city, our main goal. After that, we will continue our journey to Mechelen.

When we went outside the stations, the streets were busy but I can say the city was beautiful.

Then, we found a beautiful church nearby. For me,it was a good way to start strolling through the city by visiting the church.

The name of the church is Church of St. Mary Magdalene, also known as Église Sainte-Marie-Madeleinein French and Magdalenakerk in Dutch.

People around me were speaking French. Even though I didnt understand it all but the sound was beautiful.

From afar, it immediately caught my attention the exterior design of the church. The red-brick walls looked stunning under the blue sky. And it's a lovely contrast to the stone around the windows.

When we entered the church the atmosphere changed. If outside it was so busy and full of movement. Inside the church was opposite, everything felt much quieter.Just us when we entered the church aside from one staff inside.

The Church of St. Mary Magdalene's interior was simple but beautiful. It felt bright with those pale walls and those dark wooden ceilings added to the warmth.

The pipe organ at the back immediately caught my attention. Those rows of tall silver pipes in different heights look so beautiful.

I hope that the pipe organ is still functioning and I didn't even ask the staff inside. Most century old churches pipe organs they preserved.

As I walked, the church was completely silent except for the beautiful architecture, especially the windows.

Andrei Rublev's Holy Trinity Icon and also traditionally called The Hospitality of Abraham.

Before we step outside, we pause to pray. Asking God for guidance, protection and a moment to thank God for the chance to travel.

It's not a majestic cathedral, it's a tranquil, humble and it's something better. A peaceful, simple and beautiful church in the middle of the busy city.

After spending some time inside, we went back outside and the city was still busy around us. But now we were ready to explore. I know there's so much more waiting for us. The beautiful buildings, Brussels streets, shops, food and more.
