From Esztergom Basilica to the Hills of Dobogókő. Warm Soup Lunch And After Walking In The Nature.

Once we finished exploring the majestic Esztergom Basilica, we headed toward the peaks of Visegrád mountains for a scenic lunch. My husband planned to have lunch there and was genuinely excited to try it.

We drove from Esztergom to Doboggókő. And the road going up the mountain was very scenic. The drive was peaceful and relaxing.The higher we went, the fresher the air we felt. And we really enjoyed the beauty of nature.

The moment we stepped outside, we were greeted by the crisp magic of the Hungarian winter. The mountain air and winter chill comforting the savory scent of woodsmoke and traditional cooking.

It was our very first time and excited to finally step inside the legendary Báró Eötvös Loránd hikers lodge. A classic retreat for hikers in these mountains. The architecture felt wonderfully traditional with its stone exterior and handcrafted wooden accents. The building was the definition of rustic charm and it feels like pure magic and serene.

We had to place our orders outside before heading into the restaurant. There was a large cauldrons hung over the open flames. Th air was thick and we could smell the wildfire and delicious food. It was a beautiful display of the traditional Hungarian bogrács method.

Erdei gombás szarvaspörkölt was the menu, it was simple and perfect for the cold weather. They cooked different varieties of it. They have beef, pork and deer Erdei gombás szarvaspörkölt. They served the traditional Hungarian outside culture and food.

The kids and I went inside to look for our table. We waited for minutes because the place was full. After minutes of waiting we finally enjoyed our bowl of stew with bread.

After our lunch, we went outside for a walk and sightseeing .It was not just a lodge and restaurant but it's also exploring the mountains.

The view from Dobogókő was absolutely stunning. Hills roll gently into the distance and we can see the Danube River. The blue and clear sky makes the view even more beautiful.

Standing there felt so peaceful and the beautiful nature, especially the mountains, looked so calm and strong.

My husband pointed to the Rám-szamadék and Dömös side when we went hiking before. Because it was winter and the trees out of leaf, the scenery has its own beauty in each season.

The landscape was striking and even without the summer greenery it was still beautiful. And each seasons, it posse it's own beauty. The chill in the air was sharp against our skin and we felt completely refreshed. We took our time as we admires the horizon, snapping photos and finding a deep sense of joy in each other's company.

Our simple meal, breathing fresh air, was not a big adventure. But sometimes a simple lunch and walk in the mountains is enough.

Our visit to Dobogókő was a truly wonderful place and we will always remember. 💙
