Hello @worldmappin and @hivers, @summervibe is not yet over, though there are already some light rainfalls in some places in the country.
Today, I will take you to one of the booming provinces of Mindanao - Misamis Occidental.

Please allow me to use Google in this section, to describe the exact location of the place. Misamis Occidental is located near the narrow strip of land linking Northwestern Mindanao to the northcentral part of the island. Shaped like a collapsible fan, it is bounded on the northeast by the Mindanao Sea, on the east by Iligan Bay, on the southeast by Panguil Bay, and the west by Zamboanga del Norte and Sur.
Oroquieta City, the City of Good Life
Oroquieta City is a 58-minute bus ride from Ozamis City, with a 41.9-kilometer journey. It is called the City of Good Life because of its welcoming spirit and its aim to enhance quality of life. It offers an irresistible blend of urban comforts and natural wonders.
The "I Love Oroquieta" signage is known for its Big Squid landmark, located along the Oroquieta City Boulevard. This iconic symbol represents the city's rich abundance, not only in agricultural produce but also in seafood, including fish, squid, and more.
This place is best for morning walks and night walks, it is also best for passersby like us who need somewhere to eat our packed breakfast. The cool sea breeze makes this place a wonderful and safe spot for children to play around.
When in Oroquieta, don't worry about the accommodations, lots of hotels and pension houses are very hospitable to accommodate you. There are cozy restaurants and bars for you to check out.
Sapang Dalaga - Caluya Shrine
Caluya Shrine is one of the famous spots in the province of Misamis Occidental, an hour's journey from Oroquieta City. It represents a statue of Christ the Redeemer, a replica of Rio de Janeiro of Brazil, where pilgrims and visitors don't miss visiting all year round when passing the municipality of Sapang Dalaga.
The Caluya Shrine Statue is a 45-foot-tall statue. It is built at the very top of Mount Caluya, which overlooks both Murcielagos and Caluya bays, so after climbing the 190+ steps to the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking views. The scenery is just so beautiful, the fresh air is soothing. The climb is somehow easier, unless you have some mobility problems.

You can light candles at the Shrine. If visiting on weekdays, it is better to bring candles as the makeshift stalls at the foot of the Shrine may be closed. These stalls also sell their handmade flower vases, using seashells and corals as the main materials. Their creativity and resourcefulness are manifested in their finished products.
Whether you travel alone or with your loved ones, always remember that beautiful things become more beautiful when shared with people close to your heart.

These two destinations captured the heart and soul of Misamis Occidental, making the province a must-visit for wanderers seeking both relaxation and inspiration.
See you again in my next destinations. Have a great day @hivers and God bless you.

It was like seeing the beauty of the sea from high up in the mountains. The place was very peaceful and the environment took on a wonderful expansive form. Such a peaceful environment remains a new chapter in travel. I really like to visit such places, although I wish to spend some time in these places. Surely you enjoyed the journey of travel.

The view is breathtaking. I just have known through this post of yours that Misamis Occidental have a lot to offer, especially with tourist spots. Your place is wonderful, thank you so much sharing.
Not to mention the beautiful tourist destination islands of Bawbawon in Plaridel and Cabgan Island in Baliagao. There are also waterfalls and more beautiful spots in Misamis Occidental
The Big Squid landmark is such a unique and memorable symbol, it really highlights the cityβs rich connection to the sea and its local flavors. Climbing those steps to see the Christ the Redeemer and the amazing views must be so rewarding.
