A Day in Sarajevo: History, Culture and Peace

Traveling abroad from Istanbul can sometimes be as easy as an intercity trip. I had planned my trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina months in advance, and when the day I had been eagerly waiting for arrived, I went home after my peaceful Lake Park visit in Bolu, had a good sleep and got ready to catch the plane at 06:00 in the morning. When I arrived in Sarajevo after a 2-hour journey, I was greeted with warm lights and the city embraced me.

The History and Beauties of Sarajevo: Sarajevo is a fascinating city with its historical texture and aesthetic structures. I started by visiting the historical buildings in the city center. In this city, which bears traces of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and Yugoslavian influences, the traces of the past were visible everywhere. I did not get bored even once while walking around the streets; I came across a new architectural beauty in every corner. Especially the old buildings in red tones were practically revealing the power of this city.

Hospitable and Friendly People and Street Culture: Another thing that caught my attention and thought beautifully in Sarajevo was the people. Everyone was warm, friendly and very hospitable. I had the chance to meet a few people in a short time and even made suggestions for visiting some of the most beautiful places in the city. The friendliness and helpfulness of the locals made this trip even more special in my memories.

Perfect Weather, Great Atmosphere: The weather was perfect to separate the streets of Sarajevo throughout the day. The sun was illuminating the historical texture of the city and making every place even more attractive. After visiting historical places and spending time in peaceful parks, I didn't even realize how the day passed. This day I spent in Sarajevo refreshed my soul and gave me renewed energy.

As the evening hours approached, I walked around the cities a little more, thinking that there were more places to visit. Every minute during this exceptional period provided me with great memories. At the end of the day, I returned home to Istanbul around midnight. After a tiring but enjoyable day, I was able to gain the beauties of Sarajevo, and I ended the day tired but happy. I know when the most valuable thing is and I continue to visit the places I am curious about while I still have time left in this life. Best regards to all.
