A View In The City of Abuja, Nigeria

A few weeks ago I was discussing with a friend who lives outside the country. He has never been to Nigeria and the idea he has about African countries, especially Nigeria is that the people around here are primitive who still lives in thatch roofs and are slightly civilized. I know a lot of people still assume Nigeria as a country is still struggling to live up to this age.

I believe Africa is mostly used when describing countries that still have unlearned people and that's fine. One is not expected to know what he hasn't experienced first hand or know a place he hasn't traveled to. Unlike the popular opinion, Nigeria has Beautiful places and are growing in terms of structures.

While taking a daily walk, I decided to take a few pictures to capture the street of Abuja, Nigeria. This is for the benefits of people who are yet to travel to Nigeria and may wonder how it's capital looks like.

These images capture central places in the city of Abuja, like the bank of industry, the central bank of Nigeria, ecowas(which is far from where I was standing to get a clear picture of it) and many other buildings that are in development.

The street of Abuja is a very busy place. A lot of businesses are opened here, and the highway is often busy with travelers traveling to and from work. The cost of living here is high, only the wealthy afford to live in this part of the country. This images was captured in wuse, Abuja.

Most financial institutions and offices are located here. If there's anything to describe this part of Abuja, it would be "a place that's business centered" while places like zone 2-zone 4 are mostly residential areas.

The pictures is a glimpse of Abuja, Nigeria. A proof that the era of thatch roofs are over, we are living in the present as well. There are other great places in Nigeria, and fun places to visit that would wow! You. I hope you enjoy the few views and help you get a picture of what the city of Abuja, Nigeria looks like.
