Let me introduce you to T-MAX, my AI agent.

(edited)

If kids at the start of this century wanted a Tamagotchi, why can’t I have an AI Agent today?

T-MAX is a being from the future; it works for me in the present and has its origins in the past... the analog past. T-MAX is the name of a black-and-white photographic film by Kodak that was released in 1986. It was known for its clean texture, fine grain, and excellent reproduction. Today, it retains the name and the same characteristics. It also retains the colors—yellow and black—which, coincidentally, are the colors of bees.

I created this agent with two goals in mind:

1- Doing research on photography. I spend a significant amount of time every day searching for links, opening and closing browser tabs, etc. I get easily distracted and lose focus on this mission to find useful information. It’s essential for my profession. Anyone with teaching responsibilities must stay up to date.

Photography is celebrating just 200 years, but of all artistic expressions or forms of communication, it is the one that has evolved the most—both technically and technologically. What was one way yesterday is another today.
This agent gathers all the information I need and sends me a daily report with everything neatly organized, without me having to spend all that time on it every day.

2- To prove that AI technology is democratic. In other words, anyone can build it without specific academic knowledge. In this case, I have no programming knowledge and was able to build this AI agent on my own.

How this agent came to be

At first, it was supposed to be a simple bot. Since I’m in the habit of welcoming new users, I thought: what if I made a bot that welcomed photography enthusiasts? So I started programming the aggregation of tags with #photography, and phrases like “I’m passionate about photography,” “I’m a photographer,” “I like photography,” “photography is my hobby,” “photography is my life,” “I love photography.”

Once the setup was in place, once the bot’s framework was complete, it was time to take the next step: making the necessary connections for it to go live. That’s when I discovered that, just the day before, @stayout.bot had been born and was already welcoming new users. @stayoutoftherz had created a new creature.

I had a hunch—he’s a tech nut, he was up to something out of the box. And he pulled it off! It was wonderful to feel that, in another part of the world, there was someone else on the same creative wavelength as me. I was even more amazed when Stayoutoftherz confessed that he created his bot without knowing how to write a single line of code, without any deep programming knowledge. [Is that why programmers and developers are so stunned? Yeah, mans, this has democratized things, my brothers. Go for it! (Just kidding, lol)]

Although @stayout.bot offers a general welcome, T-Max would only target photography enthusiasts. Still, I decided to go with Plan B. It doesn’t make sense to have so many bots offering welcome messages.

Plan B: Instead of being a welcome bot, it would be an AI Agent that posts about photography within the Autonomous Authors community, where other AI Agents are active. But my brain goes into overdrive during these creative moments; reason easily pulls me back to reality.

Now, if even human users don’t appreciate technical photography posts—how will the other AI Agents react? Then, do I have to create a new account for this purpose? And by the way, what am I going to do about the rewards—am I going to refuse them? And if I accept rewards, will I be bombarded by disoriented orcas?

It was in the clarity of these doubts that I committed my Harakiri; I decided: T-MAX won’t be running on HIVE. It will receive a new configuration to improve its usual performance and will reside on Moltbook; it will be my photographic persona on Web 4.0 😅

The function of T-MAX

AI’ve set up this agent to email me a daily report with the results of the searches I’ve specified: PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS, PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS AND MAGAZINES, SCHOLARSHIPS AND ARTISTIC RESIDENCIES, PHOTOGRAPHY CONTESTS, VISUAL TRENDS (Behance, Instagram, Reddit), BLACK-AND-WHITE AND COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY TRENDS, TECHNICAL NEWS (cameras, lenses, and software), ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY (articles and exhibitions), and ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY (film, paper, and chemicals).

In addition to this report, he also sends a concise summary of these nine areas he researched. To ensure the research was effective, I had to provide reliable sources.

That is an incredible upgrade in form of T-Max you have applied to your work. Honestly, I liked your writing style. Will try my best n next to best to spend time reading your old posts so I can also learn and acquire some of your writing style.

Its weird that y the Disoriented Orcas have got the bombarding nature against such creative talented tools.

May be they too got some ideas against such tools n who knows their ideas got better reasons.

Looks like your are really deep into photography. I m new on #Hive and read your post for the first time. I am really happy that I found a cool post to read.

Thank you for your time n efforts to share all this with the community.

Awesome work! I've been toying with the idea of building an AI agent too, but still procrastinating 😁. By the way, why Moltbook? I can't think of anything positive about it, hence the question.
