Natural solution for Mosquito bites

Mosquitoes are all over the world and one of the statistics says they are responsible for the highest number of deaths. Their bites don't naturally cause any big complications but they transmit diseases from one person to another person and that gradually starts complicating things. Today we have so many things that can help us be safe with mosquito bites. We have creams that help us protect from the bites and we have other things like mosquito bat that can be used to kill mosquitoes.

There are some natural ways in which the mosquito population was controlled. Today the chain is affected and we end up dealing with a lot of mosquitoes.

Bats eat mosquitoes

I have heard stories that bats are good against mosquitoes. I don't know if they know the sound of a mosquito but they say a bat can eat close to 200 mosquitoes daily. Maybe not all the species of bats are like that. I have heard that some bats eat fruits. I remember some memories from my childhood. There used to be a lot of bats going around the house. In our school, bats hide behind our school black board and they go out only after 6. They sleep during the daytime. We have played with such bats. Today it is hard to find these bats around. There are a few bats but not as much as it used to be earlier. If they are good mosquito hunters, reduction in their population is also one good reason for the increase in mosquito population.

Dragon fly eat mosquitoes

The next thing that eats mosquitos is the dragonfly. They also consume close to 200 mosquitoes per day and they are good mosquito hunters. Today their population has also drastically reduced. They don't have enough breeding grounds and that's why their population has also come down. I have seen a lot of dragonflies near my locality when there used to be a lot of greeneries. Today it is hard to find greeneries and everything is becoming concrete structures. People understand the importance of having plants around and they start doing terrace gardens but it is still not enough. We have to do something to have the dragonfly population intact so that they can hunt down mosquitoes.

Food chain

I think Mosquitoes are slightly elevated in the food chain. Apart from the above two, fish is also another species that eat mosquito eggs and tadpoles. We used to have a lot of water bodies around us and fish and frogs inside them. These are also missing now. Because we find it hard to sleep without a mosquito fighter in any form, we can see that the population of mosquitoes is elevated. We normally say that there are many Rats around because there are not enough cats around. Similarly we don't have enough of bats or dragonflies that are dependent on mosquitoes. If the food chain is restored, we might be able to see a reduced population of mosquitoes that can be a little bearable. From this, we can see that everything is connected.

It is the most difficult to control the plague of mosquitoes, I agree with you, before both dragonflies and bats were seen more, even in the city. Now the problem (at least here) is the water that stagnates, that is not cleaned and filtered properly, and that there are not so many fish. Sometimes even with sprays or creams you can't be safe from bites.

I love the heat, but I hate the mosquitoes, it's a great duality...

Yeah water stagnation is a great breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Yeah I learnt about it recently. The best thing that works is the mosquito bat.

Aquí tienes la traducción al inglés:

Unfortunately, we humans have eliminated the natural predators of mosquitoes, both directly and indirectly by destroying their habitats. In tropical regions, during the rainy season, mosquitoes reproduce very quickly and transmit diseases such as dengue and oropouche.

Yeah it's the same here in India too.

Mosquitoes are dangerous; we are lucky because many insects and animals make them food. But we must also do our part; let's stop them from multiplying.

We need to kill more of them off, Terminator 2 style!

Yeah it is annoying. We have a mosquito bat here. We shock them. 😉

You got me thinking about bats.
So true, I haven't seen any for a while. Infact the last time I saw was when I was in school and they use to have their nest on the ceiling.

Mosquitoes are the food of various insects and animals, yet the number of mosquitoes is not decreasing

There is so much of mosquito that I believe needs to be eliminated from our house

We need to Constantly find a way of fighting mosquito

When we disrupt the natural food chain, we often face unintended consequences, like the increase in mosquitoes. Everything in nature is interconnected, and maintaining that balance is crucial for our health and environment.
