After two weeks, Boris finally got his cast removed. He felt glad, but his leg was still not strong. Today, we went to the clinic again for his check-up.” Beside the doctor’s office, have a small playground. Doris, my youngest, ran there quietly. She laughed and went down the slide again and again. I was so thankful for that playground, it because kept her busy and happy. Boris sat quietly on the wheelchair. He just watched his sister play and whispered, “Mama, when can I go play like Doris?” I hugged him and said, “Soon, anak. Very soon.” When our number was called, we went in for his X-ray. Boris was quiet and brave. He already knew what to do. After a few minutes, the doctor came with the results. His face looked serious.
He explained that Boris’s leg was still not in the right position. My heart sank when I heard that he would need another surgery in three months—his third operation. For a moment, I felt so heavy inside. But when I looked at Boris, I saw strength. He did not cry. He only asked softly, “Mama, will it hurt again kissed him and said, ‘Yes, maybe for a short time. But you are strong, and Mama will always be here with you.’” That evening, Doris danced around the living room, making Boris laugh so hard. Watching them, hope grew inside me. Even though he has pain ahead, my son still smiles. Even with so much of challenges, we still have joy. One day, Boris will run and play again. Then all the tears will be worth it. Love and hope are stronger than pain.” ❤️
