Now silence has become my companion
A reminisce for the years I've lived
Like a scale, to weigh all of my deeds
A memory that lies still, lurking to fill me with guilt

The words are held locked, but the eyes tell the story
Each drop holding a memory once held dearly
Or a regret from an open scar
Each time he gulp and swallowed hard, but the words are buried in each silence
Frail and old, a time silence holds memories
Weak to speak but in silence do memories flop in
The mouth is mute, but the heart bears the burden
Where scars reside, there silence holds a memory.

Old age is the hard teacher. I see it in elders around me. We all wait inline to reach that same place one day. Hopefully we can learn from those that go before us to avoid the pitfalls. We need to cherish our elders, as was the traditional way. We seem to lose our cultured way of respect and care for life with this modern age. Of course, all perspectives are subjective. I like to post my blogs as a reminder for myself for when old age takes away my memory as it seems to do in many.
Best wishes from the south coast of Africa.
It will be pleasant to sit and read about your youthful days when that day comes. And Indeed, the youth nowadays have little or no respect for the elderly, but I hope they realize sooner to learn from them
Good depiction and picture matches well. Nice work.
Thank You
Nicely done, you captured old age. Time is a friend to none, it takes it's heavy toll with glee.

Thank You. I had to look at my grandma's life while writing this
