A sojourner

I sojourn here, in a maze of puzzles un-resolved
All about I'm calyxed, in destitute petals
My steps squelch, as i wallow and groan
In the mire of neglect

As daily they pass me by
In creamy limousines and care not
For just a wink. I am caged.
Like lungs in ribs devoid of expanse

I am hedged and wattled
Upon stone-henges built for man
But I am a mere bird of passage
And I must return to the town of my origin.

We are sojourners
No permanent home, so why boast?
Like the grasses we are green today and tomorrow dry, and once again wait for the rain
So while you stay, set a footprint for others to follow
