A simple poem for Christmas

In a world where sin ruled
A dominion ceased from the fall of men
Was a child sent to set men free
And live among men for eternity

At night was the shepherd flock
Visited by angels to share the news
Of a king prophecy by prophets of old
Whom on his shoulders lied redemption of men

In the manger laid the baby boy
A joy to the world, a Savior was born
Cloth in humility, yet a God
A child born unto us

Let the joy of his birth fill every home
And his government council the depressed
Let men their songs employ
For unto us a child is born
